Thank you very much for making this video. We made #d walls for Zombicide Black Plague, and when Invader came out we just knew we had to do something similar. The Tile Topper version wasn't originally planned, but it seems to be really popular. We will continue this for other games in the future, because these games are so much fun to play the 3d parts make it so much more immersive. Thanks for printing out our set of walls and making this video, and we will look for new projects to do in the future (Elite and Nemesis perhaps?)

Great Zombicide Invader setup! I started printing out a set of walls for Invader, and I ran into the exact same issues: walls were too high, and the base of support for the walls takes up precious floor space. I disagree that you over-painted the walls though; I think the attention to detail in the environment enhances immersion. Have you considered adding some source lighting to the oxygen and airlock rooms? The printed boards show bright red/blue lights, and I think it would be cool to paint those effect. Lastly, I admire your respect for Goobertown Hobbies - Brent provided an incredibly thoughtful discussion.

  • @gaminggeek241

Thanks for the tips! Instead of source lighting, I use the wall insert with the red tanks for the oxygen rooms and can use a wall insert with what looks like screens for security. Which walls were you printing out for your initial attempt?

I think the immersion is there for both the minis and the terrain, buddy...should be a blast for your players...like the card storage option...got a resin 3D printer that I've just not got going yet...thanks to the recommendation of goobertown hobbies. At least that is who I blamed it on when my wife asks :D Resin doesn't seem to practical for the larger print jobs...always enjoy what you share...Jim

I try to keep mine to one colour with two shades on floors and three colours with one having two shades for the rest of the terrain. I have designed my own sci-fi terrain where I already used inserts for walls to reduce the print time and consumables when having different wall types. I really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

@@cteague3 Depends on ease of use vs cost. If you have the money, get a Prusa MK3S as it is the least amount of tinkering and hassle. But it is expensive ($750 for DIY and $900 for pre-built). The least expensive option is a Creality Ender 3 but you must tinker with it to get it to work well. Something more in between would be the Ender 3 S1. Honestly, if you become a $1/month patreon supporter of mine, you will gain access to the Discord where you can get a ton of support and opinions of a lot of 3D printers who can give you advice if something goes wrong. Or you can peruse Facebook sites as well.

Impressive looking set Mr. Gaming Geek! If you're defining overpainted as using too bright of colors then I might be inclined to agree with you, although I don't think its really that bad. If you're defining overpainted as too much detail then, in my opinion, there is no such thing. Guess you could always dull stuff down with brown/black washes if it's too bright for you. Also, how have you been storing all this 3D printed terrain? Cheers!

Just FYI, it benefits me if you dislike my videos because KZread doesn't distinguish between likes and dislikes as long as there is interaction. So if you really want to stick it to me, you should just ignore my videos rather than providing an interaction (comment, like, dislike, etc.). And I'm not sure why YT removed the dislike count as it makes it pointless not to see the numbers.
