I found a quilt I loved that required a 6 pt star but did not give directions for it. You were the first person I thought of that might have a tool for this (I own about 6 of your "tools") so I went to Amazon to order it. Well, it was going to take almost 6 days to receive it (so unlike Amazon). I ordered it anyway. In the mean time I was anxious to start the quilt so I went to KZread for directions - of which there were quite a few. Two of them required me to pay for their pattern and instructions - which I did. Tried them but it was quite tedious and I did not like the results. The last one I tried I had to get a 60 degree tool (which Amazon delivered in a day)! Not too bad but still did not like the finished product. At last - TODAY I rec'd my 60 degree power tool from you. - Oh I should have just waited - I somehow knew you would have the answer!. Am half way through my first 6 pt star and if I could, I would love to give you a big hug and kiss. Thanks for being there and developing these wonderful quilting tools. Sometimes when I read quilting directions, their methods are soooo long and tedious (not to mention extremely time- consuming) - Deb Tucker to the rescue!!! Thanks again my sweetheart, can't wait to really get going on my quilt (with the amazing 6 pointed stars).

What an outstanding instructional video. Thank you, Deb Tucker. This is why we buy your rulers. Bought the Star 360 at the Wisconsin quilt show yesterday and can’t wait to use it!

So much information! My head’s spinning. I’ll keep this video handy as well and the instructions! I do have a question. My cutting mat is a rather med dark green and I find it really hard to see the fabric and the edge of the tool/ruler. I notice that your mat is quite a bit lighter. Is it available commercially? If so, please let me know where I can get it. If not, please start selling your mats too!

Just love it! Now I am going to have to "Tuckerize" some of the modern patterns that I love for 60 degree triangles and diamonds on Krista Moser's website, Check out her patterns and youtube videos and hopefully you can make some future videos on how to make some oversized pieced 60 degree triangles and diamonds with the Star 60 tool for more precision piecing.

Are you saying that these instruction sheets come with the ruler? Or, are the sheets/instructions something different?

  • @DebTuckersStudio180Design

A set of instructions comes with the tool. And then we have technique sheets available to order that do other techniques. You can view all the products that go with the Star 60 tool here: deb-tuckers-studio-180-design.myshopify.com/collections/star-60 Also if you click on the STar 60 tool and look over the page there is a place where you can click(says Colplete step by step illustrated instructions) to look at a PDF of the instructions that come with the tool before you purchase.

I hate computers! To continue, the instructions for the included pattern worked fine until the portion on companion triangles. Couldn't make any sense of them. First attempt a total failure. Asked for help from an experienced quilter, she threw up her hands in frustration, so I guess I'm not as stupid as I feel. Any helpful hints? Thanks!

  • @DebTuckersStudio180Design

Hi Linda! Let me see if I can help you out. So the size of the companion triangles should be the same size as the Star 60 units that you made. For example if you made 4" Star 60 units then follow the row for 4" Finished Star 60 units over to the column labeled Companion Triangles (either Precision or Oversized, your choice). Those companion triangles will be the size you need to fit to the hexagons to make them large triangles.
