Harriet really wasnt a slavery movie it was way more of a freedom movie. It wasn't focused on her time as a slave or in bondage but way more on how she escaped and how she managed to free other slaves. The movie is about Harriet Tubman's life and slavery simply is a part of her story so of course that's going to be a part of it. But I think the movie is way bigger than that. I feel like you'd be missing out if you won't watch it, I hope you will, because it was truly amazing. And cynthia erivo's performance in it was incredible as well. ❤

Um they show her scars and stuff. But I watch it when I get too privileged to unfortunately remind myself who my ancestors were.

Her live performance of this at the Oscar's was even more amazing!!! You should react to that aswell ❤❤❤

But see that's the issue with most of my people slavery upsets them so they refuse to race it.... but it IS HISTORY our countries did that. Owned people, wrote them down as numbers not names. We have to face it or the wrong can never be corrected.
