I just watched the 3-3 of The Chosen. Jesus tells his hometown who he is even though he realizes they are not going to believe him and will probably get hostile. But he did it anyway. How many of us would honestly stand up for the truth even if it costs us everything? I hope I would but I don’t know. I think I’ve grown a lot but I’ve caught myself doing some weaselly and cowardly things before.

Thanks to your wise counsel 🙏🏼. It’s going to be a bumpy ride , but my alternative is to let my soul rot away and say nothing or, do what my head and soul know is to true. Earlier in the year I spoke out in an anonymous survey within our younger engineer group saying that there is an unfairness in segregating the vaccinated and the unvaccinated. I was excluded from social events prior because I was unvaccinated. They are trying to bring us together after being remote from COVID and they still exclude us. We then had a meeting about the responses of the survey and my response was shared (anonymously) and another girl stepped in saying she can’t even go into her regions local office because she is unvaccinated and she feels terribly excluded. Since then I haven’t seen a social event require proof of vaccination. They still have different masks rules for being in the office for vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Stand up for others! For some are having trouble standing in this material reality of systems defined by human intelligence. We need each other As the strong grow weak so may the weak become appropriately strong in support of all. To be supportive is the attribute and proof of the truest strength. A strength not greatly demonstrated by the perceived materially strong of this day. For each one of them has no place without a multitude of supporters. Supporters who have proven ability to be of support and no doubt greater and appropriate strength.

I don't even know how to drive I need my job because of the health insurance I stood up for myself. I almost got fired. I also stood for other colleagues I had to rectify quickly to avoid dismissal My solidarity with colleagues who do not love me precisely, surprisingly it solved very deep conflicts with third parties At that point I realized I had crossed the red lines and I could be fired because of straightening things with a big boss I rectified more: I blame my therapist (actually it was his idea not JP's) I felt very afraid and a bit psychotic I told another boss I felt suicidal which was true The colleagues became more friendly I performed at 200% for a week I came to good terms with my bosses I could have lost my job and my mind I don't even know if I would do it again

One thing I learned as a dog trainer is, if your mad at your dog, you should be mad at yourself. @@Kyryyn_Lyyh I'm specifically referring to the part where he thinks you need to prepare to speak truth to power when it becomes corrupt. In other places, I have heard him suggest you should have a job lined up before doing anything that might get you fired, but in my experience this is very unrealistic. There are many parts of life in which I have tried every tactic I have ever heard of that wouldn't obviously make things worse, while those around me say "change what you are doing" or "stick with one thing long enough for it to work" or "maybe that one thing you haven't tried won't be so bad" or "how could anyone think that was a good idea" I was hoping you'd suggest not giving up, but speaking up anyways. Sometimes one's room is impossible to clean because of outside forces. This should not be a reason to spend an entire lifetime doing nothing. I still believe that things are going to work out. It's just that I have had very bad luck for many years and my current tactics are taking longer than expected - but I can see them slowly working now. I bring up the subject for others who are still stuck in a period of hopelessness.

They are so cringy. It’s like you’re outing everyone. Saying they have a niece that is trans or whatever. Saying they are half-Mexican so they bring awareness to Hispanic heritage month and to go try the menudo at a local Mexican restaurant…. I lead a meeting next week and I have to figure out how to approach this. I don’t agree that we need to focus on our differences that don’t even matter such as race and identity. We are one team and it is most important that we are unified in the task we are doing so we can make money.

The Truth is the Word. You can stand on it! It declares itself! We can either make peace with Truth now and be set free forever. Or we can deny the Truth even until we die and then the Truth will inevitably become our Eternal Judge. Judging us for all our sins and transgressions. I love the Truth! Jesus said: “I am the Way the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father (aka the Lord of spirits aka GOD) without Me.” He was not bragging. He was explaining something that needed to be understood. The Lord Jesus Christ was in fact and perfect truth The LOGOS (In Greek meant The Word The Word of GOD.) GOD spoke everything into existence through Jesus Christ The Word who became the Son who died for all of our sins. So that we might possibly be able to escape this cursed world! And also so that He might renew this cursed world as well. The Lord said that He would turn the “wise and prudent” of the world into fools and that He would simultaneously make the fools wise! So that the uneducated street person might put to shame the learned PhD! Those who are despised and disdained by the world indeed the “things that are not” “so that they might bring to nothing the things that are.” So that no man might glory in His Presence. The Lord of spirits aka GOD destroys the proud while simultaneously exalting the humble and the contrite in spirit. Be wary here. This is no time for blindness of perception or “Blind Mind” as I like to call it. And yet sin itself blinds our understanding and the power of sin causes death and brought death into our world. How can we have victory over our lower natures and overcome the enemy of our souls? We cannot earn it. GOD made it a Gift. Called Grace. It’s Gifted to us, or given to us in His Mercy. Grace is the ability to have great Joy and Patience even during hard times! And Grace is also the ability to overcome the world through the indwelling of the Ruach Hakodesh (The Holy Spirit of GOD Himself) that Pure Original Spirit which came First of ALL. All things will be seen clearly in time. For now we see through a mirror darkly. GOD came as a Light into our darkened cursed world to set the captives free and to bring us back to Life! That DaySpring? Was Jesus Christ/ Yeshua Messiah who became the Passover Lamb that we might not need to be left as lost tortured earthbound / Hellbound souls finding no rest when we die. He came to save the world that He made by speaking it into existence. And to bring Mercy even to those who cursed His Name in their incredible ignorance. That is what happened.

People are afraid of the potential consequences of speaking up, even if they feel it's the right thing to do. It seems to me that for men of my fathers generation to be heroes of their own story, they had to work tirelessly and in so doing be a tyrant to themselves and to others. Success, status and money are the pillars of what it means to be a good man, emotional intelligence and actions that are life/society affirming are an afterthought. I love Dr Peterson but he too is guilty of this in that Mikhaela’s narcissism is a direct result of his neglect and inability to be present for her as a child. You see it all the time and I’ve even experienced similar with my father in that he has actually REFUSED to acknowledge that he could’ve done better. Like Dr Peterson my father works hard and is observant but can’t see how him being observant instead of present affects those around him. I want to better than my father and Dr Peterson. I want to take their essence, make it my own and sin less and less as time/experience goes by. I’m told by these two “Work Hard!” in a finger waving manner but as walking precedes running, so to does play to work. I haven’t played enough to work as expected and felt enough abandonment for my body to ask what’s the whole point of working hard if people are gonna leave if you’re slow and hate you if you’re fast? And to add to that “working hard” DOES NOT EQUATE TO taking care of yourself, the people around you, the environment and the broader community/environment?!? It’s almost as if I’m being told to neglect literally the most important things in life; the relationships and connections you have with yourself, others and the world. Who the fuck in their right mind does that unless they’re in hell and willing to sell their soul??? “Josh you gotta work hard.” “It’s like, I’d tell you to goto hell but you’re already there. Put there as a result of circumstantial childhood neglect. Had to work hard to be loved. But now aren’t really loved how your heart needs to because of the cycle of human treatment you’ve had to adopt to survive. And you’re telling me you’d like some company because you’re lonely? Well sorry father but if I ever found myself in hell because someone put me there (*ahem ahem*) I would work for love but once I realised how I sinned I’d have to be honest with myself and stop sinning. I’d have to stop feeling like I had to work for love. Which is almost impossible mind you. Look around lol. But I’m doing it anyways because fuck you I’m dying inside and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. If that makes me an outcast and an older virgin than most so be it. I’d rather die alone than let the cycle continue and my biggest fear for a long time was dying alone so that ought to tell you something. And so I find myself climbing out of the hole I inherited and fate bestowed upon me. I have no real friends (that can see how I am on the inside when I’m not trying to hide it, that I don’t know which hill they’d pick to die on so I’d never see the knife coming and because men don’t go through difficult things anymore hard to judge the strength of the bond), I loathe the tyrannical nature of my family system and that I can’t stand up for myself without the potential threat of homelessness and starvation. But I have my soul, my emotions, my intellect, the improved essence of my mother and father (but not necessarily their blessing) a lot of unearned wisdom and the thought that one day my needs would be satisfied and maybe I’ll have REAL friends for once. I’m aiming for the highest possible good I can imagine and if I don’t get what my soul desires than obviously I’m not aiming high enough and working hard really just isn’t part of the trajectory I hope for (in the way that you would understand it)” I could have missed the mark there some tho

Reading your comment, I had two thoughts: Perhaps you are around the wrong people, and I don't think self-reflection is the way to find the answer to this question. Peterson has said that humans outsource their sanity (which is why celebrities go nuts when surrounded by yes men). If you were asking me for advice, I would tell you to find someone you respect and talk to them about it. I hope there's something helpful in there.

@@miaramck6746 Well, I don't believe in the outsourcing thing. There is no way to tell if I should respect one's opinion unless they first prove to me they can be reasonable - and the only way I can judge reasonableness is to measure it against my own reason. Why not cut out the middleman and just listen to myself? 2006-2012 were the worst times for finding sensible people, I was very depressed. Things are much better now, but I find even now I am surrounded by part-time crazies. Making friends is very hard. Friendships are fleeting and superficial. What I was hoping people would get out of my comment was the realization that sometimes they have to act alone even when the entire world is against them. Once one has made themselves open to correction and their would-be-teachers spout nothing but utter nonsense year after year after year (even after seeking out a new crowd) there is nothing more to do than follow one's own conscience. If they are remembered in history as an idiot, that is a better fate than violating one's own reason.

I like how Peterson casually glosses over tyranny in the workplace as if there are workplaces that aren't tyrannical. Just too funny. 1) We dethroned gods, kings, and emperors with citations of neglect and cruelty - tyranny. Then we realized that not one person could ever have enough information in order to properly govern such a complex world of humans. 2) We then structured businesses in the same top down hierarchical fashion that made the kingdoms of old so bad at what we think their objectives should be. 3) We then gave the power we took from gods, kings, and emperors and gave it to the banks, businesses, and corporations. 4) And now your employer has become your god, your king, and your emperor. For all Peterson's supposed "knowledge" he sure can't tell what tyranny looks like any better than the average person it seems. You think you can recognize a tyrant, do you? Serial killers and shady salesman aren't overtly cruel or bad to their victims until it's time to do their deed. Up until that point they are the nicest humans you can ask for, even heroic at times. And even the overtly bad tyrants had and still have supporters for one reason or another. If it walks like a tyrant, talks like a tyrant, and uses the same tools as a tyrant, then guess what? It's a 🦆 🤣 Like I said... too funny. How's that for saying what I have to say?

You might have added a definition of "tyranny". I suspect some peoples' concept of tyranny is not relegated to just the workplace or corporate world. They think they are "saving" the world from not just tyrannical bosses but people different from themselves. Have you any doubt that there are many people who consider making the lives of those they judge to be immoral or sinful or a threat to their own lives a noble act of standing up to "tyranny"? I have heard such people referred to a "virtue signalers" and that's currently quite prevalent online. They too are "standing up" and "speaking out" these days (ad nauseum, in some cases). I suspect some people may take this well-presented material and twist it to place themselves as cultural heroes or martyrs when they are merely hateful, hypocritical, and small-minded people eager to look righteous in the eyes of others or their weirdly distorted version of God.

Jesus Christ is the image of God. The body of Christ demonstrates the nature of God to us. He walks and moves as God on Earth. Both the work of His hands and the speech of His lips are revelation about the nature of God. If you were to have the nature of God inside a fleshly body, it would look like Jesus Christ (meaning it would move as Christ's body moved). "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" The arm of the Lord is the work of the Lord. The Word of His work has been maintained in perfect clarity. The gospel has gone out into the whole world, and the power of its Word is availalble to us. Have you noticed that the nature of Christ is in the Bible? Where else will you go on Earth to learn about the nature of God? And the Word of the gospel comes with power; what other book in the history of the world has the power to save you by its combination of words? Being in a relationship with somebody means caring about their consciousness, not their body. So how else do we get to know God than by the words of His Life? But so that we may believe, God has also revealed Himself as an image in the body of Christ. But, "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn - and I would heal them."
