I thought she wore that jacket so they could simulate the wardrobe change, I was disappointed they didn't do it

I am rushing to watch this to see how the stand-in dealt with the ending notes. Unfortunate that it was just lip synching.

They did! Australia took locals for the backing vocals, probably in order to save money, so they could do the actual stand in (except for Kate of course)

I think so! You can see in the bottom which camera is on, it helps making sure handheld cameras won't be showing during the televised performance so I'm assuming this was filmed waaay before the artist's actual rehearsal for at least a couple of times

Stand ins are sent to each host broadcaster to give feedback on everything camera and lighting related so that it’s almost ready when delegations arrive the next 1-2 weeks

I don't know, but they 100% included "EUROPE! WOW!"

This setting of camera movements and the light choreo and setting was SOOO MUCH better than the final result, the green room looks alive and the side lighting was so present... I feel like the show in general was too dark in some performances, for example like in Ukraine's show, you can tell that the intention was movement of light through darkness (the live on tape performance have the original setting) and the final show looked perfect on TV but in the arena looked dark.

It's so ironic that Israel had a song named Set Me Free

It seems like this one is actually lip-sync, up until this year the stand in have always sang live, this year's competition which prerecorded vocals were allowed (and I hope it will be the last as well).

Yeah, it's so the individual countries can see what their plans look like on stage so they can make final changes before they get there, as well as to test the camera angles and lighting. If you watch San Marino's, you'll see there was quite a bit of change visually from the stand-in rehearsal to the final performance

its basically if a country cannot be there on the night, the stand in band will perform instead of the original band that cannot be there for whatever reason

What is the left-most number at the bottom? I thought it was shot number, but occasionally it says things like 37A or is even missing for one or two shots.

Camera Shot sequence number, or something shorter, when you delete or insert a shot from the first version, you don’t want to repeat or reuse any number in case it causes confusion in communication. Like when you want to add a new one before shot 38, you would name it 37A, just after 37, so that you don’t mess up the numbering. And likewise, when the shots are deleted(by changing the duration to zero) while adjusting timing on others, the numbers are dropped and shouldn’t be used again. Unless of course when they clear the deck and re-numbered all of them in the final version.

Eurovision is live shows after jury shows after dress rehearsals after 2nd rehearsals after 1st rehearsals after stand-in rehearsals, and with many others in between. It just isn’t that easy.
