"Em, I just said G I should actually sing about Em, but hopefully you knew what I mean. That was C chord." That's impressive to say in 2 seconds.

I think it's time for "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" if you haven't done it already. Thanks a lot Justin for all the great lessons. Cheers

I am so glad to learn guitar with you, Justin. it is so marvellous !!!!
thanks Justin. this lesson was a turning point for me.
"Music is bigger than maths" , that my friend is a quote to go down through the ages! Seriously that was so well said. I think i have picked up that muting technique fairly well and fairly quickly but it's hard singing along with this strumming pattern for me still, and struggling a bit getting that slight up strum you do catching the first few strings. I am getting there though so thank you again for another grand tuturial!
So many valuable hints and tipps in this one. I learned a lot!! Thanks a bunch!
I'm surprised you didn't include the simple walk-down from the G to the Em by dropping the bass note to F#. Very easy even for beginners and adds a lot of interest. :)
Thank you for your existence and for sharing this video!
Love his instructions!
Great job Justin! Thank you !

another great lesson!! A year later and it's still being taught from! You are worth donating to! Keep it up. These vids have helped so, so many! I know you may not get the pay you richly deserve, but when the country straightens back out I know donations will pick up, even though I know it's not why you do these vids. You still deserve fat contributions!! We love ya, Justin! You and Andy Guitar are nothing less than Top Shelf!!
I like its different gives a good touch.

It’s so helpful that you sing the chords out for us. Really helps me put the lyrics in while playing!
I am a beginner and I came across your videos and really like them. Please keep making more.
Wow, once you get the strum, this is a super easy song. Can even do a few walk ups between the G and Em chord and the Em and the C. Great party song cause everyone knows it. Thanks for this great lesson, Justin!
as always easy to learn from watching you THANKS
very simple.. I had the beginner in 5 min .... thanks justin

Very nice
Great Song choice. Glad to put this one on my list now :) Love you're lessons I like the D chord before the chorus better too! Thank you :) -Jamie
you are a nice person.i learn so many thing from your lessions.thanks lot.
SOOOOO helpful
I found these palm-muted down-strums much easier at first by angling the guitar right back towards me. Much nearer 45 degrees than vertical.
The first version of this song I properly listened to was Led Zeppelin's Version. I then listened to the original version, as I loved Zeppelin's version a lot.
Cool that was good
Very charming voice : )
Kind of person everyone would like as their cool brother, be my brother Justin, go on, pleeeeaase
You are one nice cool guy : )
Ok hay lắm.
Awesome. I learned the fingerpicking version from LicknRiff. Keep on ROCKing guyz:D
loving your lessons, very easy to understand. I am playing this on an electric guitar atm, but will be getting an acoustic soon. G A does your beginners songbook have the lyrics with the chords written above them ( like this) as I am buying that as well
Man I wish I could sing like you.
Always lovely to listen to your tips Justin, keep up the good work!!
i was just getting into it and you stopped!!! lol Good work once again
Its so much enjoyable to watch his lessons. Loved it.
Can you please do a tutorial for bermuda highway by my morning jacket beautiful song can't quite figure out the picking pattern
Full G followed by D sus4/F# then Em sounds good to fill it out a bit.

Personally I think the picking method sounds better, good tutorial
You have such a nice voice!
could you please do the tutorial of creed's ''one last breath''
please, can you do"stand by me"by oasis?
RIP Ben E King
Could you please do a lesson on David Bowie's cover of "My Death"? It's such a great song and I can't find any lessons on it on KZread!!!
thanks for "music is bigger than maths" :-)
GOD BLESS LIEBER & STOLLER
Mate! can you jazz up this song? Thanks
Aharr, Aye aye Capitain. But only after you've swabbed the decks.
For ages I kept playing this with "A minor" by accident instead of "Eminor" now I realized it.. A minor actually sounded OK..
I love the 'icecream change' :-)
Can you please do On the Sea by the Beach House. Please?
Aye
Wished I could see hand up close on videos.. I can't see good.. and :-O I like this guys Videos..
What're your thoughts on switching the C-D part to C-D7? It's an easier chord change and I think it might even sound a little better. Opinions?
Sang the shit out of that one justin! Swell job :)
I am a big fan my name is Brady I have been playing for a long time I play a six string
i always play the bridge like in the song on the lower e snare. :) sounds good try it out ^-^
u sound different...good diffrnt
How do you get such nice sound out of your guitar? Is it the technique or a certain tuning or the guitar itself? And if it is a guitar, how much would I have to spend to buy a guitar like that?
@Wammus85
8 жыл бұрын
+Tilen Čurin My best guess is it is a combination of skill and the guitar (specifically the strings). If i remember correctly Justin mentioned somewhere he uses .12 gage strings. These are a bit thicker wich gives a lower sound wich is better for strumming. Besides that Justin is an awesome good player so he can probably make a terrible guitar still sound ok.
What's that red thing on his guitar?
3:21 and the land is another Barbie minor
Justin! this upload failed the quality control check.... "we are going to learn SONGTITLE by ARTIST" "Lesson id XX-123" Love your work non the less though :)
Where is the link for the string mute
I love your videos since ages. one request..will you please gift me your ever present blanket...
this is a stupid question but like it is a must to practice with a metronome or whatever , or can you be good by just practicing songs, idk if that makes sense
@flashtuinmanman
8 жыл бұрын
Unless you're the one person in a million who has perfect natural timing, practice with a metronome. At the very least play along with as many original recordings as you possibly can. With a metronome you can start off slow and build up to the original speed.
@tonym7051

mike o'neill ok,makes sense, thanks man
"Oh, it's just a beginner lesson what could I possible learn? Well, I'll throw it on in the background...huh, I totally cheat and mute with my fretting hand. I should do the strumming hand mute-hit exercise. Probably with a metronome." - me watching this as my hubris slowly deteriorates

Keep practicing and NEVER give up! You will get it, for sure! :)

I find it easier, but I know I need to quit and do it right. Also, I like the lift off sound better than the palm mute sound.
Another good tuition Video Justin... thanks ..Good song too !! ...........Anyone who "thumbs down" this Video want their heads testing and /or are complete pillocks ! Its top class free tuition !
I capo on the 4th fret and play the same chords ....So what is my key ? Suits my voice perfect .Thank you !
Someone can link the lesson on muted strumming he mention? Thank you!
Im here for the sing along and not the guitar lol. Fun way to sing it.
STAND BY ME NOBODY KNOWS WHERE ITS GONNA BE
Please.
I dont understand the mute strummign part. He is moving down on the strings with his hands so how is he muting them? When i try it. There is just a nornal strum. Am i missing something?
@sandymusic777

He bars the strings with the side of his hand at the same time as he strums. He has a full lesson on that

Do my ears deceive me, or is the suggested chorus strumming the pattern used throughout on John Lennon's version of this?
does anybody else's fingers hurt trying to mute or am I doing it wrong ?
Tt
These videos are awesome but all I can see is Norm MacDonald with an accent.
Why play with a capo
