so totally agree. One handed backhand is the only thing that can keep tennis alive and appealing. Pure beauty. Aesthetics, skills and panache above all! Specially above the cowardly stable, unchanging, lame, easy double handed backhand ;-) Came here for that 1:51 rally, real masterpiece . Just As Richie's Backhand will define tennis by itself for decades ;-)

Hari Govind gasquet has less backswing, and relies on precision more than power. Wawrinka puts huge amounts of topspin in his forehand, and uses his power more than any thing else. That's the reason why wawrinka is successful on slower courts and gasquet is successful on faster courts

How many people came here mostly for their Awesome Backhands???

I'm no more than a casual player but my dad taught me to play with a one-handed backhand and I've kept it my whole life. It's much more technically difficult than the two-hander but it feels so much better to play, and makes doing difficult shots like the backhand overhead smash significantly easier. A two-handed backhand is just a slightly refined clubbing motion, whereas the one-hander is a beautiful arc. I always love watching Stan, Roger, Grigor or Richard for this reason. One handed backhands are beautiful to watch.

That Gasquet's backhand at 1:00 is just unique for him xD.

I miss Stan... ;(

Will Wawrinka ever win Wimbledon? It would be nice, especially even if he never gets to Number 1, simply because it would be unheard of for someone to win all 4 Majors and yet never get Number 1. That could be an interesting legacy.

Alex de Lesseps never say never. Some people said Nadal would never win the other slams, and look what happened. As long as he continues to develop his game, he has a chance. These pros don’t just enter a tournament thinking they have no chance. Even if it’s a small chance that the draw opens up, they go for it. The courts are fast, but it’s not impossible. It’s just incredibly hard.

Hands down the best one-handed backhands in the game.

I learned to play tennis using a single-handed backhand back in the 70's. To this day I root for whomever has the single-handed backhand. The prettiest shot in tennis. In my opinion - Justine Henin had the best - man or woman.

I think Wawrinka has the better cross-court backhand while Gasquet has the better down-the-line backhand. While Federer in his 30's has the most well-rounded & versatile backhand.

Wawrinka's signature shot is the down-the-line backhand. He has more winners in that particular shot compared to other one handers.

Double handed BH is so ugly to watch. Single Handed BH so beautiful. In my opinion, 1. Stan 2. Gasquet 3. RF They got most beautiful single handed BH. If RF would have single hand BH like Stan and Gasquet, He would have won nearly 30 GS by now

Stan was the better player. Sadly he didn't come in nearly as much as Gasquet. He would have been fantastic at net and maybe won a couple.

Onmysheet Because they killed each other. Wawrinka could have been a more difficult rival but Djokovic was likely to win either.

Double handed BH is so ugly to watch to be honest. No art. ND / RN both are ugly to watch in double handed BH.
