Mr. Hardy had such a great talking and, of course, singing voice too. And the greatness of Hal Roach. He let them alone and respected their talent. It's bc of him too that L & H shorts are so timeless. If only studios were ran that way again, we could see some truly good stuff instead of the drivel passing nowadays. This is why wonderful films like L & H will never be duplicated. They are forever the kings of comedy.

For anyone interested in a straightforward reference for all the films made by L & H, Randy Skretvedt's book - the guy they're interviewing for this bio - is, imo, the BEST source. It's really well done & concise. I love so many of the actresses in L & H's shorts, like Thelma Todd, shown here. Mae Busch, Blanche Payson, Anita Garvin, Gertrude Astor, and Isabelle Keith are my personal faves. W/O Randy's book, I'd never know about any of them!
