    one of the reasons the Stan's performance here is so good is that he had a tumor in his heart that was going to be operated on in a few months and he genuinely thought he was going to die so he played this European tour at his absolute best.

    I remember not knowing much about jazz when I was younger, other than I liked it. I went to the Amarillo, Texas, public library, in the late 1980s or early 1990s, where I checked out CDs of this album, Miles Davis's Kind of Blue, John Coltrane's Giant Steps, and Dave Brubeck's Time Out. Someone there had good taste in jazz, and I learned a lot. I love these giants of jazz, especially Getz, Davis and Coltrane.

    Im sorry… I don’t know anyone who can play like this…. C’mon… Listen to how creative he phrases and bends each note? Who does that? WHO ELAS CAN DO IT LIKE STAN? This is absolutely GLORIOUS! How ddi he think of this stuff? Just his opening is enough to call him a Genius… By far my favorite Sax Player. and if you can get this CD or Album get it and treasure it. You will not find anything like it again! Remember… these songs are not a scripted set of notes… it is spontaneous inspiration and improvisational!

    Maybe Benny Goodman is his inspiratie next to other mountains that are too wellicht known...he chooses musicality voice sound abov mechamic virtuosity his personal touch makes it so special recognisionable sound..😮

    Still can't get this on Apple Music : ( Got this record from the library when I was living with Lara on Victoria's Kingston Street 35 years ago, still my favourite cut of any Stan Getz recordings. Kenny Barron's piano is so great on this too! Puzzled why it says 2002 in the listings above - remastered maybe?
