It’s Jesi again taking over Jackie’s channel, sharing a new idea for designing cards following Jackie and Dave’s card making templates while shrinking them down to fit onto note cards. As we all know… Jackie loves her Designer Series Paper. So how do you follow her card templates if you don’t have any DSP? You’re going to stamp your own patterned paper to create with!
For this project I’m creating with the Leaf Collection background stamp. I’m stamping it once as a way to stamp your own patterned paper and then cutting it down to follow two different template layouts. I’m also using the stamp set Simply Said to add my sentiments. This is such a great all-occasion greeting set to have on hand!
This project was my very first time creating with a large background stamp. So please bear with me as I create a little slow today! While I was designing this project, I talked to my mom Jackie a lot about how to best stamp such a large stamp. She gave me all her tips and tricks and I’m now ready to share them with you!! So I hope you enjoy, and gain some new confidence to stamp your own patterned paper!
To make these cards I used Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes, these are so easy to create with because the card bases are pre-cut and scored. The first note card layout was inspired by Template #28 from Volume 7 and the second note card layout was inspired by Template #14 from Volume 4 of the card making template series. Follow the link above to learn more about the card making templates and how you can make your own!

Thank you for sharing that was very sweet of you. I love how you call your mother Jackie instead of mother. I think that’s kind of sweet. You always do such a nice job. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, how fun is this. YES - the answer for the envelope flap instead of fussy cutting to match the envelope (I do it but I hate it). The envelope is gorgeous!

You can always use a pair of tweezers to help pull up the paper. (Just raid your beauty supplies!). you can use the eraser end of a pencil or a chopstick to hold the stamp down while inking it. Hand sanitizer will clean ink off your hands.

How cool! Jess, I love how you took the A2 size template to do note card sizes. Are the note cards postal mailing size worthy? I have always used note cards to hand give a card but was curious if they can be put into the mail service. Thanks again for showing this technique. Actually any of the background stamps could easily make homemade DSP in monochromatic- simple and sleek.
