i really dont think so, this game is likely not for the masses, the average jhonny gamer would be dissapointed this isn't radioactive ukrainian Call of duty. from what i have seen from games journalist talk about trying it out in the SGF , they were "underwhelmed" by the game, one in particular not knowing how artifacts work in stalker games and thinking the game is undercooked and rough around the edges. it feel's like a lot of them expect this to be an action thriller FPS where you are constantly engaging in gunfights and were let down from the slow pace and walking around in their 30 min demo. most of them havent played OG stalker games and dont know this game does not hold hands. But at least im happy GSC is still keeping stalkers identity unchanged.

Stalker is a niche genre and that’s how it should be imo , I don’t care if journalists or the masses don’t like the game I’m going to enjoy it ! Hell I liked starfield even though people constantly berated me for liking the game .

@@AetherialDusk exactly , gaming is subjective like people hated suicide squad and so did I but some people (somehow) liked that game . Starfield is hated by many people but I personally like it (nothing crazy but it’s enjoyable for what it is ) . I think there is way too much negativity in the internet (although sometimes it’s warranted ) people should just enjoy games they like .

Been some tree months without buying any games. Give me a similar experience to the original Stalker games and I will be back to gaming asap. Please be good 🙏.

Lifelong STALKER fan here. I am not afraid of STALKER 2's release. If it ends up sucking (which I don't think it will), I have the 3 original games and countless mods to go back to, like I've done my entire life. I've been getting very excited for this game's release when the 100 days left countdown first started and been catching up on the base STALKER games so that I am ready to see both new and old in the new game. Personally, I am very excited to see the return of old locations, mutants, weapons, anomalies, artifacts, factions, and characters, but more importantly, I can't wait to see NEW locations, mutants, weapons, anomalies, artifacts, factions, and characters which will appear in STALKER 2. Even if the game is bad, there will still be new content to enjoy.

I don't care about graphics. The main thing for me from stalker is optimization, atmosphere, music and sound effects. I don't need more than that. I go to the original stalker shadow of Chernobyl, and get high from the banally simple algorithm, when we can gather around the campfire, and tell stories.

I love stalker since childhood and I am so happy that it finally gets deserved attention! Call of Pripyat alone gave me thousand of hours of joy because this world feels like single player role playing game! It is so immersive that as a school kids we ran around imaginary anomalies shooting imaginary mutants with a gun-sticks ❤ I know I will love it anyway because of all that nostalgia but I feel that you guys will love it too 😊 P.s. for the new players I recommend getting started from the call of Pripyat because it is the „newest“ of existing trilogy and it is more forgiving and easier to understand how it works.. and you will not be confused by the story of the previous ones that are more hardcore.. previous ones may give you „what should I do next“ feeling while CoP world is more filled and interesting to explore. That’s my opinion. Have fun, loners ;)

Glad you enjoying the game man, once you get to the third game call of Pripyat the gunplay is much better.

You have such a happy way of thinking, devs are making what board of investors in suits are telling them to make. They are not interested in creating rich game with indepth systems(like A-Life), game that will still be played after 20 years. What they want is return on investment as safely as possible. So it's a veery real possibility that it will be generic shit that looks good in vedeos, but after refund times is up players will realize it's shallow and fake illusion of The Zone.

Once I`ve heard from Serhiy Gryhorovych, the boss of GSC: "We've seen how small studio of CDPR made a great game, the Witcher. Then they released Witcher 3 that blew people's minds and was a high quality product. I think we can achieve the same". These words give me hope

2:44 stalker was never a hardcode survival game stalker is a story-driven first person shooter there are mods for stalker that do turn into that but the original game's are not GSC never wanted stalker to be that the only reason people says that is because they have never played the original's and only play stuff like gamma while GSC did want stalker to be more realistic then there previses titles they where not going for milsim levels for realism if you look at all the development Material for all the three games most of the changes are to the story and lore for them all the survival elements in the original games are there in Services of the main narrative experience combined with A-life ( the AI system in the stalker games that allows NPC's and mutants to freely roam the map and nitrate with the world without the player's innervation )

I doubt it will be GOTY. There is a chance if the quality is good, and marketing gets players to play that normally wouldn't, similar to Elden Ring. However, while I am sure I will enjoy it a lot, I am also expecting a lot of jank, at least on release.

Dude, this GSC is not same as the old GSC. It's a completely different team of devs now.

I don't think it will be a GOTY, GSC aren't known for releasing stable and good products. Their old Stalker games were good after a lot of patches etc. but i think Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a higher GOTY potential.

Nope. It will be the disappointment of the year. Even in the trailers you can actually see how shallow the whole thing really is. The gunplay is crude, basic. The AI is nonexistent. The visuals don't live up to early trailers and show severe lack of budget - like, all the materials in the game look the same and have a wrong gloss to them. The locations look empty. Walls have more relief in the original Stalker (due to parallax occlusion mapping). Shadows on terrain are weirdly missing. In total, STALKER: Clear Sky's visuals seem to be actually more solid. All of that is not to mention that the studio has big difficulties because of the war, and besides they are now likely aiming to cram as much political agenda into the game as they can, instead of actually making art. Last but not least, it is likely to be nowhere near the original by the vibe, much more likely aiming for Anomaly kind of vibes (casual, careless, western-like). There was once a massive leak of Stalker 2 data and based on what we know from it, Stalker 2 is very far from the original.

the AI looks like it's not good in the trailers is because of cinematic look and the ai will be difficult in the game depending on what difficulty you choose. Correct me if I'm wrong tho

@@2411ist That's how GSC presents it, but what I mean is that most likely the actual AI will be a disaster anyway. I don't think they would have had to hide it so obviously for the trailer if it was at least half decent in the first place.
