Stainless Steel Paint - Best Chassis Paint?

Welcome back to our TMR Chassis 4800 build. After a full year of building, we finally get to strip the chassis down for final weldment and my favorite part, paint! It surprised me how much welding was left on the chassis, and how many cans of paint it took to get the end result, however it turned out great and should take the beatings to come in the 2023 race season.
With that said, the paint used in the video is very similar to the well known Steel-it brand but 1/3rd of the price. Since we're on a tight budget, this worked out in our favor. If you're interested, check out their website... not a sponsor.

I just watched all your build videos over the last couple days and really enjoyed everything. Another treat to see you released this one today, but this is gonna suck waiting on all the upcoming vids. Really enjoying the build and I'm excited for you to continue making progress. Great job!

Hows this paint holding up? They recommend using a primer, i was wondering how it does without primer like yours.

I would recommend the primer; however, the paint works really well on the bare metal. Only reason I would recommend a thin layer is material prep.
Great video! What are you going to use to paint your rear axle if anything?

I just spray bombed the axles with paint/primer black.

Have you tried welding it yet? It’s not advertised as weldable.

I have and it does weld. However, due to the stainless, it does spit and sputter a little bit. Crank up the heat a little more and it burns right in. Definitely better than spray paint though. Hope this helps.
