I am 48 years old, when I was about 12 years old two older wise men told me and my best friend social security would be gone by time we got to age 62. I listened to both of them and believed both of them, it just seamed so far away I filed it away in my brain. Well here we are, I will be 62 in 13.5 years and am not getting jack crap from uncle sugar, on top of that it will probably take $5,000,000 in investments to generate a $40,000 income in todays dollars. 5 million with 2% yield is 25,000 per quarter. with 4% yield that doubles to 50,000 per quarter or almost 17,000 per month. Social security has always been a stupid program, since there is no compounding it just takes money from workers and gives it to people that need it so bad because they failed to save and invest when they had decades of opportunity to do so.

In a way I can understand why they have been doing what they’ve done but this system broke 15 years ago but keeping the public in the dark about the depression we have been living through will end in a complete disaster. Now people are finally starting to wake up but the price we have paid is enormous. Deteriorating demographics and the mental health of the public tells us that under the surface of all this we know things aren’t right. Even if it is politically unacceptable to let the insolvencies take down this bubble and this whole system with it we just have to accept that keeping it the way it is might end up costing us so much more.

The issue is the federal reserve made the program to fail. 20 years of low interest rates and the fed buying government bonds made socially securities maybe just keep up with the CPI some years. Yes the program is bad but the point is the federal reserve made it much worse. I do like other countries that take social security taxes and put it into like a 401k where it’s only yours and it’s private, not a pool, and you invest it. Sure the program could be done away with but with all those crying for government aid I think forcing taxes but then the individual investing it is better then no social taxes and then another massive handout or new social program in the next Great Depression cause politically the program would probably come back if it was done away with.

Peter Schiff has been right all along, however, if I’d followed his advice and predictions over the last five years, I’d be a lot poorer. He’s been predicting a downturn ever since the last downturn. But thankfully I kept buying rental properties. My gold and silver holdings have done nothing but I’m not selling because that’s my hedge against my stock portfolio. Peter Schiff, the Perma-bear absolutely knows what “should” be happening, but there is no end to the amount of hot air US politicians and the Fed will keep blowing into the bubble.

I was at a funeral of a man who passed away aged 84 yesterday in rural Ireland. His son told me his father bought an adjacent farm. I remember it being sold and its was about 1985. He borrowed most of the money and struggled to pay it because interest rates rose to 17%. This confirms how high interests rates were back then. Seventeen percent! I post it because it is a fact from an unlikely source. Irish rates are usually in line with Britain.

Because last year we have the highest inflation rate in history higher than 12% in 70s if you use the same criteria. Inflation will burn down the bubble. It's like trying to pump a balloon filled with gas over a flame. The bubble will burst when the flame gets bigger and hotter. The flame is inflation. First the inflation will destroy the labor class, many will not make enough to live. Then it will destroy the middle class, they will have to tap their savings and cash out some of their stocks in order to afford things. Then finally the rich will suffer when their companies go out of business due to lack of customers and looting from starving mobs. Get it? That is what happen in Venezuela when that Government thought they can pump money into their economy and market like there's no tomorrow. Now all of them became millionaires but poor. The rich fled the country leaving behind their mansions and now it's taken over by the squatters.
