I recommend swapping out your spark plugs for plugs that are recommended after stage 1 remap. Hope to vw forums ask around for recommendations. Change them tyres for better quality tyres wouldn't risk running them shit tyres

Well done mate definitely running some good power now on stage 1 if you got the dsg mapped aswell you will see some fast gear changes

Get that map checked, the graph drops off a cliff when it hits peak power, the original power line has a gradual increase through the Rev range, the new map drops off a cliff at about 2-3k revs

Fair play it was running 178bhp before, not bad still

Dyno seems to be happy, no way is it getting 500+NM. 400-450NM MAX really on a stage 1. I’d also say you’d only get around 250-260bhp stage 1 also.

Word of advice, now that your running some power after a thrashing let your car idle for a couple mins before you turn it off, cools down the oil around the turbo preventing west and tear

Letting your car idle for no reason will create carbon inside the combustion. So there is a minus as well by doing this.

My car's a 2008 2.0 TSI, stage one @267 BHP / Milltek Exhaust System with sports cat, and induction. The petrol defo makes a difference, if I am using high octane juice and I turn off traction, the car turns into an animal, and if the roads are greasy the car will then spin through every gear. But on the lower octane juice, the car stays under control. It's good fun though, nice one on your remap mate.

Looking at getting a new car and this looks promising to getting. At what year did they change the engine to the r? Just so I know which 1 to get haha!

I tend to use Tesco Momentum in my car which you will notice the slightly difference in power and engine.

I’ve got a stage 3. If that’s what you want to call it. It’s got 380 ho 400 torque . I’ve spent 30k tuning it in last 10 years. The handling is the main thing I concentrated on .

The figures seem out to me, only 170 bhp before the remap? Yet he has upgraded exhaust and intake, I feel like these figures should be higher from the get go, and then the end results on the dyno seem too high for a stage 1, particularly the torque of 570 nm 🤯

570nm is alot for a petrol with that bhp diesel yeah at that hp but not a petrol and for the car to be running 170 with all that on stock is funny surely high octane full wouldn't make that difference if did wouldn't they tell you before to fill it with that. Plus if its they reckon 200bhp with high octane or near that it could be 300bhp remapped running high octane its very confusing i thought the company would of spoke but they obviously didnt want to which is a shame for sure as could explain things better for sure.

@@druss841 Yeah man I agree, if it was diesel I wouldn't be doubting it. I have a Polo 6C 1.8 GTi that was recently stage 1 mapped and I was told to fill it with high octane fuel beforehand. Its running 250 bhp with 390 nm torque. To see a similar engine running 270 nm more torque just seems abit funny. That's the same torque as my Dads stage 2+ Golf GTi....

i got the same car with the same engine. my CULA (yours engine) running on premium petrol with just 18.000 km on board got stock 189 HP and 301 NM and after the stage 1 got 241 HP and 436 NM, they told me that the power u got after remap should been for a stage 2, now we gonna see whats going to happen
