What you should have said is he has never put the blame on anyone & has even if it was not his fault took the blame in stride. Never put another team mate under the bus like so many do today. All his ex team mates absolutely loved him.

@Cody Hess you Stafford haters will never give up. He only had one year with a good defense and running game in 12 years.

True detroit fans will always root for Matthew because he gave his all for this city and his team, he deserves to be in the Superbowl. Just love seeing him and his wife (who is tough too) and their kids. Sending good thoughts that all of the Staffords stay healthy and strong.

3 months later and here we are! We are Super Bowl bound! I’m so grateful for Matthew Stafford and everything he has done for this Rams team. He deserves a ring more than anyone and we couldn’t have made it this far without him. Go get that ring Matt! Let’s win this thing! GO RAMS!

@@nathanklemick8351 He had really good weapons in Detroit aside from an abysmal rush game--but still good receving RBs. He makes weapons out of anyone, Kupp wasn't even an afterthought last year, CJ only had his greatest, and by definition the greatest ever, seasons as a WR with Stafford. Golden tate, Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay, monster seasons, WITH STAFFORD. Weapons weren't the issue, and his team being stacked doesn't matter either, it's that in Detroit, Caldwell was wayyyyy too conservative, and Matt Patricia was an absolute WRECK. Defense was gutted, and Quinn did better than Mayhew, but still didn't do enough on the trenches and got wayyyy too ballsy with the trades.

He was always a great QB, respected by everyone. I hope can can finally win a Super Bowl with LA. He deserves it.

if you dont love matt stafford you're lying... he is one hell of a man and should be someone that everyone looks up to.

@@rudycavazosBro that game was a nail bitter for sure even though I am a saints fan but I was hoping for the rams to win for Matthew Stafford since over half of his career was wasted with the lions also for Andrew whitworth and OBJ. The Bengals played extremely well though but they just need to work on their offensive line and get rid of eli apple how eli apple still has a career as a football player is beyond me unless he promises to improve and actually show how much he has improved but I really doubt that since he has had many years and been with many teams to improve.

I love how this is an interview with Matt Stafford and he’s quite for most of it. Love Matt. He’s a good role model for kids in a world without good icons to look up to.

This was pretty cool to watch the moring after he won his first NFC championship. How can you not want to root for this guy to win the superbowl.

As a lifelong Packers fan, I respected Stafford ever since he was drafted by the Lions. His endurance and courage made me admire him more. I wish he could get the respect he deserves as a good quarterback. It's also great to see Kelly overcome a difficult time. I can't image what they had to endure. It was also great that the city of Detroit was so supportive.

Im so Happy for Stafford!! I may be a lifelong Lions fan, but Iim glad that Stafford will finally get the credit he so much deserves. It seemed that every time the Lions won a game with Stafford is was more about how the other team lost. Now the world can see how good a QB he is. I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t walk away with a championship ring. Only wish our Lions would have been the ones to share it with him. I will never forget Detroit (cough Ford) built this country (Thank you Henry Ford) and Kelly and Matt Stafford EARNED Michigan's allegiance in a Browns game rookie year followed by a fight and win with cancer shortly after... Us Michigan folk define LOYAL.

I am a diehard Seahawks fan and I have always said that if we didn’t have Russell Wilson, the QB I would want for us is Matt Stafford. He has always been brilliant but overlooked in Detroit. When I saw he had joined the Rams, our division rival, I was crushed. Regardless of anything though, I wish Matt all the success in the world! I love watching his story and I am happy for him that he has such an amazing relationship with his wife. Go Staffords!

I'm a Lions fan; have been all of my life and will only hope for the best for them. I watched Mathew Stafford his whole career and though I hated to see him go, I am oh so excited for him to be with a team that has the ability to take advantage of his amazing quarterbacking skills. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, that I have talked to is really upset that he wanted to be and was traded simply because everyone seems to understand that for 12 years, he gave his utmost efforts for the Lions. For being with a team that could not build a supporting cast of players for that long deserves an opportunity to move on to excellence. The one thing that has struck me though this move as well as through all of the years is how he embraced the Detroit area when it could be the most unloveable city in the nation. He's gone now, and Detroit will miss him. I won't because I now have two teams: The Detroit Lions and the Los Angelas Rams.

Love this man and his family, he always leaves everything he has on the field and is a great role model. He did so many great things for Detroit and his good bye video brought tears to my eyes.

This guy was so beloved on Detroit!!! Lions fans knew he gave his all to that team

Dude has the top 2 receiving yd leaders in the NFL w/Johnson and Kupp. Johnson nearly made the top 10 twice and this was his 1st yr w/Kupp who doubled his reception yds from last year +53recs and made 13 more TDs. Not that Kupp wasnt already a good player but if you look at his stats you can clearly see he went from good to superstar this yr which says about all you need to know about Staffords on field abilities and off the field you never hear a peep out of him.

Facts. It was amazing to see my favorite player from my Alma mater get drafted to my favorite team. It just sucked watching the organization fail to help him for 12 years.

For Stafford to last 12 seasons of getting beat up and still at it makes him top shelf! And still has that cannon!

I have been a Lions fan for 55 years and Stafford was the best QB we ever had. He is a class act and I said when he was traded that he would get his team to the Super Bowl. I hope he gets his ring. He deserves it.

I've been an LA Rams Fan since the 1979 Super Bowl (QB's - Vince Ferragamo (LA) & Terry Bradshaw (P. ST.). I also remember watching the game, when Matthew Stafford was hit. Then came back to finish the game. I knew, at that very moment, he was the toughest QB, in the NFL... GO RAMS !!!

Being born a Georgia Bulldog 52 years ago, I've seen a number of great athletes pass through the hedges of our home stadium. None other than Herschel Walker, have i ever seen the true talent shine as much as this young man. From the day Matthew dressed out in Red stepping into his first game as a Dawg, he impressed me every single game he played for us. I knew then that he would be very special. On and off the field. One of the most genuinely and humbly kind to everyone that approaches him. Such a great leader as you so can see here now. He will never ask you to do what he's not willing to do himself and he will lead the way first if need be to show you how. Big big respect for Matthew. He will always be a Georgia Bulldog to me. Detroit was lucky to have him. It's a shame they let him leave. LA now has one of the best QBs playing the game today. Son, may the Lord continue to bless you and keep you and watch over you and your family no matter where you call home. Gooo DAWGS!!!

Nothing but Respect. I appreciate all he did for the Lions. Despite the average to below average Offensive line and no run game to speak of for much of his time in Detroit, opposing defenses knew Stafford was going to pass on a majority of downs bc of no running game and playing from behind much of the time and yet Stafford still was the fastest QB in HISTORY to pass for as mentioned, 20, 30, and 40,000 yards. The man is a warrior and is easily a top 5 QB in the League. That vicious hit he took that NO other QB would have stayed in the game after taking that hit, just pissed him off I can throw the ball if you need me to he says, and then did for a TD. I have been saying he is one of the best for years and most people would laugh and tell me I am nuts all bc of the Lions record. It takes a team to win and now Stafford is on a talented team and headed to the Super Bowl. Anyone that watched a Lions game should have been able to see his talent. The arm angle throws that people rave about when Mahomes does it was being done by Stafford when Mahomes was in grade school. Stafford's arm strength is as strong or stronger than any NFL QB current or past. I wish Stafford nothing but the best in the NFL as well as his wife Kelly and their children. Kelly is a warrior too. Kelly is correct, the city did rally around her, but it went beyond just the city of Detroit, the entire state of Michigan was behind her and the entire family. The Stafford family also has donated a lot of money to help others that does not get talked about and that is just how they want it. What a generous and lovely family. Stafford Strong.

Seeing how successful he has been this just proves the Lions organization is just a full-on circus. Detroit as a city & fanbase doesn't deserve that damn Ford Family screwing them. Staffords have a strong footing

Mathew Stafford is an NFL great, he is and has been a top 5 NFL Quarterback since he started. I am a diehard Lions fan, but, I hate how the organization wasted the careers of other greats, like Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson, I'm just glad that Stafford got out before it's too late. The Rams franchise and their fans are going to LOVE Mathew Stafford, he is going to be a serious upgrade to their Quarterback position. I honestly believe that the Rams, with Stafford under center, are immediate Superbowl contenders.

I am a Detroit native, rooted for the Lions my whole life. Then married a packer fan. Matthew Stafford is talented. He never whined once while in Detroit about anything. Always gave huge best. Gave a huge thank-you to the city when he left. Class act and I wouldn't mind if he won a Super Bowl someday, right after that Packers win another with Aaron. Now the people in Detroit, some didn't think he was a very good QB, but he was. He just didn't have all the pieces surrounding him. Now he does in LA. Good for him.

I might get my wish this year.

I remember being high school when Stafford was drafted by the Lions, knew he was going to be a good long term player! That Cleveland game was his break out and most memorable play. I'm happy he won the Super Bowl for my team!

There's been way too many "experts" saying this guy is soft and overrated. I'm a Rams fan and I can tell you this guy is legit. Fastest QB to 20, 30, and 40 thousand yards.There might be something wrong with his throwing arm because he hasn't been great with the deep throw and has a few head scratching interceptions but he's tough as nails and can flat out ball. He's been a definite upgrade over Goff and has his team on the cusp of a Championship in his first year here. Love how he and his wife have each other's back. Go Rams!

Class.. Toughness. Ability. Great family. Gave lots to the city of Detroit. Great story. I remember when Golden Tate got traded--and Stafford's name came up in discussion after he non longer played for Detroit. He said Matthew had the best arm he ever caught a ball from.

Just keep digging, man. All you’re going to find is more and more good. I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d want my own son to be like, and for me that’s the highest compliment I can pay any human being.

Their actions show he truly loves her and she loves him. She's mentally tough and that makes for a good wife. I love seeing couples like them a humble but strong man and feminine but gracious woman.
