Stacking Experiments Up: From A Sphere to Animation | Rich Lord | SIGGRAPH HIVE 2023

Фильм және анимация

Learn how to break down an independent animation into the experiments that were conducted during its creation. Explore complex looking setups that can be built from simple parts and how the unique structure of Houdini makes this process truly generative. This leads to using Houdini as a notebook to store ideas and experiments to use later.

I love the idea of parasites, inhabiting a rock, and the rock being the house of many and having human relatable combustion elements :D the worms seem to have quite the party in there that they suddenly also seem to have polluive behaviour, instead of the benefits we know them having. well done!

Great advice re : " procedural " approach and not trying to think too far a - head .. So that you're responsive to whatever comes out of the process ..

Considering what a difficult thing Houdini is, it would be cool if the authors of such videos posted the Houdini scene along with the lesson.
