    is there a way to make importing faster for file pattern hda? i'm kinda sure it can import faster something like datasmith does? it takes like 20-30 seconds to import a mesh and load it to scene with 50-60k polygons or less.

    Even MatCaps don't look accurate in Houdini viewport, sorry jump on the bandwagon but a unified system like Blender's would be amazing if at all possible. Even Unreal Engine supports real-time rendering and Path Tracing without having to change any materials, just one button.

    Blender doesn’t have vex, or unified sims. I don’t use Houdini because of the viewport.

    Actually I don't like its viewport either , But blender taking over houdini in market is very tough.

    I've found this issue where after a while using the software (happens randomly), the viewport doesn't update properly anymore, so I had to close the "viewport" tab and open a new one. Is that what you are referring to?

    Here comes a guy who will say blender is best without using Houdini. I think it's a disease happens to many new blender artist. Blender can't be close to market of movie 😂

    I Use houdini and blender on daily bases, and can confirm, that blender not even close, in viewport performance. Every time you import simulation, via alembic, the viewport performance drops immediately. I really can't understand, what you mean by, "will take the market" but that's statement, is not valid at all. I don't even want to compare both, in actual tool set, but wait !!! Blender now supports simulation caching in "Geo node" is that not innovative guys???? Blender is pure joke at this point.

    The impression is that Houdini solaris is a set of windows or - if you want - an additional interface - that only confuses the user. All this can be achieved by existing methods and no need to edit geometry through solaris
