I love that you are so calm and patient. This quilt is a lot of fun to do, but it's not for everyone.
Learned a lot!
I love this pattern, I lost my books in a fire, but still have blocks to put together. I’m glad I found your videos.

Oh no! 😥
+this is a fun and beautiful pattern, just time consuming.

Yes, it takes time, but you feel like you’ve really done something special
Your voice is very calming and instructions are simple and clear…not wordy (I love this!). Too many times the verbal instructions are just too wordy and the real “meat” of what the steps are, get muddy. Thanks for taking the time to create these great videos! ❤

Wow, thank you! Stay tuned for Part 3 this coming Wednesday 😉
You are making this look really easy thanks
Look at the salvage it will tell you when the pattern repeats.
This is so cool to watch. I love how the fabrics make these designs. I had a kaleidoscope as a kid too. Thank you for the tutorial on cutting the fabric. You did an amazing job.

Hi Beth, I heard you say you were concerned about your ruler slipping. For over 30 years I've used the Clover sandpaper tabs, they are easy to apply and work great. No more slipping. There are other products on the market, I just like these best. Cutting the actual triangles would be an excellent opportunity for suggestive marketing, there's a Kaleidoscope ruler, Quilt in a Day 60-degree angle rule, there must be several on your notions wall.
I did 2 stack and whack a few years back ofcourse I gave them both away!
How pretty!

Fun! This looks like something that you can enter in a competition once done 😉. Girl you made me nervous with that rotary cutter! I even gasped at one point that I thought you were going to cut yourself 😂! I won't deny that I have left my cutter open on occasion too ☺️ It was probably due to all that concentration required for the kaleidoscope pattern.

So far, I’ve never had an accident with a rotary cutter. It’s always hard to watch someone else use one.
Wow beautiful Sheri. Thank you so much for showing us how to do this. ... abd what's great is when I'm ready to this I can rewatch your video . I love all that you do to keep everything interesting and your knowledge makes learning so easy. Thanks for your patience and time. I very much appreciate you. Happy holidays. Hope Blue is enjoying his trip as well. Hugs

Spirograph, yes.
Oh my gosh! I honestly thought you were going to ruin that beautiful bird fabric but it’s just the opposite, it shows it off even more! I’m going to do this with panels I got from Sew Yeah! Love it!

It’s an amazing and fun project!
The best way to determine repeat is to look at the printers mark on the selvedge
Wow, so pretty, I think you gave good tips, but not sure if I'm ready for a Kaleidoscope quilt yet.

🙏 Will the 1/4” seams diminish the present design?

Very little
What about other shapes to add to it to build it out. Tessellation tiling?. I only have one that's ruler it's alittle bigger than yours and I'm struggling to make my own shapes. I think I'm kver thinking it. Lol. Thank you for this video.. most hse the fancy rulers.. or the one that's that are other shapes.

You can. When Part 4 of this series comes out, you will see that I add more diamond and triangle shapes to these hexagons.
I favour the 1" strip method, thanks for showing us that trick. Who's bird fabric is that please.

I’ll have to check out your method. I’m sorry, I do not remember the origin of the bird fabric. I do know it’s a digitally printed fabric, possibly Dan Miller.
how much fabric do you need to make this quilt and what will be the final size?

Carmen, send me an email to lessonslearnt2021@gmail.com with this question and I’ll get that for you.
23:49 the bird will disappear in the seam allowence.

Yes, that will happen on some, but the idea is to get the kaleidoscope effect and not so much showcasing individual motifs. Watch Part 3 next week and you’ll see what I mean.

@@lessonslearnt5966 I know, what you mean, I sew kaleidoscopes nearly every week.
Why would you not want to starch before starting-it should reduce any potential stretching (I try to wash and start before cutting for any project that focuses on accuracy)

Just my preference. I can appreciate the reasons for doing it though.
Very pretty but too much work 😂
