Stack train in Tacoma, WA, 10 15 2014

Today I'm at 21st Street Park down in Tacoma, WA waiting for a train. A rain shower arrived before the train, so I ducked under the adjacent freeway overpass to protect my camera.
BNSF 8114 (ES44C4) leads a stack train southbound past my location. The train is going slow as she pulls out of Tacoma Yard but picks up speed quickly. One of the five locos was a Canadian Pacific unit. Not uncommon to see them around here.
Once the rain shower passed, I moved to the bus stop on the other side of the street for a closer view. From here, you can see the train taking two crossovers to get on the correct outbound track.

Good job SRF as usual. I really like your titling telling us more about what we are seeing -- something that is lacking on many railfan videos.

Thanks. I like to provide some context to the action. Not all viewers are experienced railfans so some explanation of the action can be helpful. And some of my comments are to benefit those not intimately familiar with railroad operations in the local area.

I waited around for a bit to see if those engines were pulling something interesting. Turned out to be just light engines coming from the grain terminal just out of sight headed back to Tacoma Yard.
