It was a windy day in the yard that Saturday, and 2 Heritage 1 GP38-2s were working the yard local at the West end. Suddenly out of nowhere, Tacoma Rail's Muni-Tacoma Yard interchange train pops up at River st pulling a big load of mixed freight cars. Usually this train will have just two MP15s, but this time they were packing 2 SD70ACe-P4s and an SD45 carbody sandwiched in-between. They even pulled up to 21st street to do a big shove into the yard where the Tacoma Dome is seen in the background. Pretty slow moving action but the catch was worth it.

super cool - i have yet to see those "new" SD70ACe's in person. Those old BNSF GP38-2s are sounding a little tired too.
A first time for me. Looks good. Excellent video.
Nice catches, great shots, really like the Tacoma rail livery and those SD70ACe's are beautiful, excellent Video thanks for posting ! Greetings from Southern California; - Larry

Pretty nice & I remember once I started my YT I use to love going to the RR yard!
awesome shots of the yard, I love the old H1 paint schemes... You must have have a good 600 or 700mm of zoom to get in that tight, very well done!
Nice, but whas this trains at the classification yard like trains shunting them to the departure yard or is this really the departure yard where trains gets coupled to the rail cars for delivery
This yard is mainly use as interchange between Tacoma Rail and thr BNSF. Many automotive manufacturers also use this yard as a point of entry to the port of Tacoma
Please and Thank you! Watched it twice already.
Great footage! Looks like you have a nice little vantage point. I'd love to venture up there one day.
4:09 That locomotive looks like the Wisconsin “Escanaba & Lake Superior” Orange and black livery just without the green dot.
