STACK & TILT 10 Words - WEIGHT FORWARD

When it comes to simplifying the golf swing, the Stack & Tilt 10 words does exactly that. Five "2-word" concepts that condense the most important parts of the swing into 10 simple words. The first two words are WEIGHT FORWARD and this video will discuss and highlight the importance of having your WEIGHT FORWARD if you want to be a successful golfer.

Such a great video. Far too many golf instructionals use jargon that doesn't help people understand what they're doing wrong or should be doing. This is concise, and easy to understand. I've finally figured out my ball striking isn't as pure as it should be and someone recommended stack and tilt. This explained it so well!

Rob, i know you have done an s&t video with driver but can you explain how we go from striking 5" after the ball with itons but bottoming out before the ball with driver? It would be great to have a demo of both swings in the same video where you explain the difference. Love the content, thought we had lost your excellent instruction on KZread.

It's a combination of ball position relative to the swing centre (lead shoulder) and more extension in the driver swing to raise the club away from the ground faster than in an iron swing.

I’ve been using S&T now for about 3 months including with the driver. My ball striking has improved and I’m longer with every club in the bag. I never slice or even fade the ball anymore, which used to be my miss. Most of my shots draw and my miss is now an occasional hook. What’s the S&T advice for fixing that?

Ron, I am old and very stiff due to past disc problems. I can only turn my shoulders about 15 degrees! To get my shoulders turned 90 degrees from the target line, I have to start with my hips about 75 degrees turned (15 + 75 = 90). I can only do this by starting with my back foot facing away from the target. I actually tried this and think I can maybe still get a swing at the ball. Should I try this for awhile or forget about getting the shoulders turned 90 degrees?

Hi Rob, while keeping weight forward (think you said 60% at top of swing), is there still a sensation of bracing against the instep of the right foot? I say "bracing" to emphasize no weight transfer but still getting a slight sensation of pushing against your right foot. Sorry to get super picky but this area seems to be making me come too far from the inside which creates over-draw. Cheers, John
