If you just stumbled upon her, or as in my case have the consequential advantage of listening to jazz stylists for a half century, it's impossible to view her talent, commitment and body of work as anything other than absolute top drawer. She's up there with any of 'em. You name 'em. Ella, Sarah, Dinah, Josie Stafford, Vera Lynn, as the list gets shorter. I once had the pleasure of meeting her. She's as charming and delightful as you'd ever hope.

I always felt a certain simplicity , honesty and innocence in previous recordings of this song. Almost like a human condition one has to poses as a musician, to play it that same way. This group of musicians surely posesses that quality, as well as Stacey Kent, and I can see the joy of finding musicians who really want to play this music, as a gift. Thank you!!
