Thank you, Deborah for you amazing videos .. the other on “ reducing tension I. The pelvic floor. I have been diagnosed with hypertonic pelvic floor and have much difficulty on and off with low back and hip/sacrum issue… Interstitial cystitis like symptoms that come and go and the inability to breath well when standing. Seems like the breath greatly affected by whatever is going on in the back because when I lay down there is no problem with breath at all.. i’ve been around the bend with this and it has really affected my nervous system to a great degree… I am thinking that this could be a great answer for me and wondered whether I could get suggestions on which programs would be the most beneficial for me. I have become very adept in the last few years at being aware of How each of these issues are so interconnected…

Thank you! as always such a beautiful lesson with clear information. I have been using this all week mainly to play and remind myself that my abs know what to do without me interfering so much :)

I am happy to hear how this Awareness Through Movement lesson has been a 'reminder' to not interfere so much. The abdominal support system is always on the job in subtle and complex ways. Thank you for your sharing, Darlene.

Such a wonderful lesson. Does it help to do it over again several times? With Feldenkrais how long does it take the body to learn new ways of using the muscles and holding itself? Thank you so much.

Hello Esther, Yes, definitely repeat lessons, and do other lessons so that you don't become habituated to a movement sequence. The brain is learning and novelty gets your attention. As for how long it takes to change, that is quite variable and depends on many factors, such as how long the 'issue' has been going on, your level of awareness and experience with movement, as well as one's attitude toward the body, towards change, towards being in an unfamiliar situation or learning process.

Excellent lesson. I find it very hard to lift both feet together. I imagine its because my lower abdonimals are weak. How can I strengthen those particular muscles?
