ST40 tokamak plasma pulse 10969
Ғылым және технология
This is one of the first plasma pulses of our new campaign with our record-breaking ST40 tokamak.
Last year, we achieved verified plasma temperatures of over 100 million degrees Celsius, considered the threshold for fusion energy and proving the potential for fusion power plants based on the high field spherical tokamak.
In this campaign, we’re developing what’s known as ‘diverted plasma’ scenarios, which should lead to higher performance plasmas, as well as commissioning our Thomson Scattering diagnostic to measure electron density and temperature profiles.
The campaign runs for three months and the learnings will inform our fusion pilot plant programme, which will demonstrate the capability to deliver clean, affordable and secure fusion energy to the grid in the 2030s.

A beautiful pulse!! Well-done TE!
wow... very very very hypnotical and full of wishes for the future. I love all of projects that are running in the FUSION race, each one of them is interesting, promising and they are worth of founds
Well, that was more than a millisecond!!
Great job 👍
Nice. Can we have a technical discussions
When will there be a working commercial fusion reactor?
Can anyone explain if this is real time footage or is this in slow motion? In other words: how long took the pulse?
Where st80
def choose post the 69th on purpose
Please say "lessons" not "learnings". You sound like Borat otherwise

"lessons" are usually taught whereas this is knowledge gained by discovery. I have no problem with them using "learnings"; it's not a common usage but seeing as this is the sharp edge of technical research I think a Shakespearean quote here and there adds some balance.

@@Swiftbiscuit Lessons are learnt as much as they are taught. "I learnt a lot of lessons from this experience ".
