Nowhere's perfect but Guernsey remains an oasis compared to many parts of the UK.. No hordes of homeless or gangs of street beggars with substance addictions, health and social services that haven't collapsed and still function for the benefit of the people, no fulltime politicians, an urban centre not pockmarked with scores of empty units used by rough sleepers, a place that's safe to walk at night, an environment safe to bring up children .... I could go on. Don't allow anyone to change your island.

My entire maternal family came from St Peter Port, Guernsey......grandparents, aunts, uncles. My mom was the only one born here in the US. My grandmother made the crossing in 1919. Such a beautiful place. I have so many childhood memories of the grown ups sharing stories about "home". Thank you so much for posting this.

No friends I don't... Yet... Live in this wonderful island but I just wanted to pass here as I used to fly with Aurigny from st brieuc, Dinard, Brittany to the paradise in St Peter! A la prochaine, as you say here! To quit this place is a hard decision as you always wish to stay one night longer !!

it looks beautiful like a mix of the south east of England (Devon/Cornwall) with northern France

I've always loved walking through town (as we call it) and ignoring the modern shopfronts but instead looking at the gorgeous facades above, that's where the true beauty of the place lies except of course where they remain unadulterated on ground level like the church or the Cozy Courner / Albion etc. Made me slightly sad in that I remember how pretty the market was before economics and redevelopment got in the way but then I guess previous generations could say the same. Good video, nice production and an excellent ambassador for our beautiful island. Thank you!

A beutiful place and thanks for helping me relive our vsit in 2018. A suggestion if you don’t mind. Slow your panning down a bit so peoeple can take in what you are showing them.

Vermillion Studios, I have a couple questions about St. Peter Port, as I'm working on a story taking place there. When you visit the place, how do you pay for items, food, or a hotel room. If they don't accept American money, how do you get the money of their country? Also, would you by any chance know what St. Peter Port and/or Guernsey was like in 1984, or any of the 80's? That's when my story takes place.

Hi there, regarding money, British pounds are used, and so can easily be purchased from foreign exchange outlets. I don't know what the island was like in the 1980's though.

In your dreams! I love the isle of man, more "modern" Victorian architecture generally so less quaint but much more wide open spaces and more diversity in terrain. I worked there and always said If you could move the island to our location then Guernsey wouldn't stand a chance. But you can't and our climate wins hands down and we have far better beaches, cuisine and general standard of living in my opinion. No offence intended, IOM is still one of my favourite British Isles and we share an independence from the UK in government which is awesome!
