That “No Hurdling” rule needs to be changed. So if someone is coming in to hit you low near your knees or ankles, you’re basically telling the kid to just take the shot to your legs regardless? Just stupid.

The reason they have it is because they dont want to encourage players to hurdle so they dont get their legs taken out and land on their head/neck. Not saying it's a good rule, but in a way it makes sense

I'm from HI so was rooting for STL but knew it would be a tall task playing the #1 team from the #1 state at producing football talent. Congrats to St. Thomas Aquinas. St. Louis you have lots of talent but try to stay more disciplined next time and let your play on the field do the talking.

And in 2019 the defensive rookie of the year will be his younger brother Nick Bosa also an alum of Saint Thomas Aquinas. There are more Saint Thomas Aquinas players playing in the NFL today then from any other high school program in the country. @@allensaunders449 In Texas there is some recruiting of a player or two but there are rules against it and most schools obey them. Usually a kid's dad gets a great job in this district and their son just happens to be a potential college prospect. People who are successful look for the best schools that afford their children the chance to excel in all aspects from academics to sports and they buy a home in that part of town and raise their family. The private schools have no such rules and can recruit, and most coaches agree to not allow these schools to compete in the public school classifications for state honors as it is unfair. They do compete in their own system and are recognized by the state which is the way it should be. The UIL now allows public schools to play pre district games against private schools if they wish.

Let me settle all this chatter about recruiting. Look no further than Mater Dei, St john Bosco, and Bishop Gorman. These 3 teams recruit and transfer kids heavily. St Louis recruits kids too. There's a saying in Hawai'i..."ROOTED not recruited". St louis and Kahuku in Hawai'i are known to bring in kids from all over the island and mainland. St Thomas is legitimately bringing kids in from Broward County 2nd largest county in the state of Florida. Look up De La Salle HS, a t team that Aquinas played and beat in a close game. They coach up the kids they get. Have a look at their game tape and roster on maxpreps. Nothing in size or numbers to these heavily recruited squads.
