St Joseph's Horse Club, Finglas

In early October 2023 I had the unexpected opportunity of visiting my Uncle Colm in Finglas, Northern Dublin. He took me to see an exciting community project that he is chairing. The St Joseph’s horse club, in Dunsink Lane.
While Dublin has prospered massively over the last couple of decades, there are the inevitable rich/poor gaps which are ever-increasing. The problem of drugs is huge, and many locals are deeply saddened by the traps that young people are falling into. Grass-roots projects like this one are wonderful because they encourage responsibility, care for the wider community and help to mentor a younger generation in fundamentally positive life choices. If you are in a position of influence or know someone who might be able to support this venture please make those steps because this is a win-win situation.
Thanks to everyone at Dunsink Lane who made me so welcome and especially to my Auntie Annie who loaded me up on mini rolls.
