"Prayer For Priests(Taken from The Radiant Heart Piety Book)" "L: O, Almighty and Eternal God, A: Look upon the face of Thy Christ and for love of Him, who is the Eternal High Priest, have pity on Thy priests. Remember O most compassionate God, that they are, but weak and frail human beings. Stir up in them by the imposition of the Bishop's hands. Keep them close to Thee, lest the enemy prevail against them, so that they may never do anything in the slightest degree unworthy of their sublime vocation. O Jesus, I pray for Thy faithful and fervent priests; for Thy unfaithful and tepid priests; for Thy priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields; for Thy tempted priests; for Thy lonely and desolate priests; for Thy young priests; for Thy aged priests; for Thy sick priests; for Thy dying priests; for the souls of Thy priests in purgatory. But above all I commend to Thee the priests dearest to me. The priest who baptized me; the priests who absolved me of my sins; the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Thy Body and Blood in the Holy Communion; the priests who taught me and instructed me or helped me and encouraged me; all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way particularly (mention intentions) all the priests at Sensus Fidelium KZread channel who feed us with God's words daily. L: O Jesus, keep them all close to Thy Heart, A: and bless them abundantly, in time and in eternity. Amen!"

After a Sunday homily, I got into a discussion with my pastor who claimed that John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus to confirm FOR HIMSELF whether he was the Messiah. Father said that even the Baptist, himself, underwent a crisis of faith, given the prevailing confusion and almost universal Jewish misunderstanding of what form the Messiah would take. Thus there arises a problem with the interpretation of Matthew 11:4. John tells his disciples to go and ask Jesus whether he's the Messiah or if there was to be another after him. Jesus upbraids them, saying the answer is painfully obvious because of the great miracles they have seen him perform, AND which were predicted of the Messiah in various versus of Isaiah, Daniel and Malachi. In other words, it should be a no-brainer. And so most bible commentators (including Thomas Aquinas) state that John sent his disciples to confirm Christ's identity, not for his sake, but to confirm John's disciples faith in Jesus. Fine and good. But there's still a huge problem! Jesus knows precisely why John's disciples are there - he's God! Nonetheless, in Matthew 11:4, Christ sternly directs John's disciples to go and tell John the works they've seen him perform. Obviously, if John had sent his disciples to Jesus to confirm only their faith, Christ's response would make no sense. Because if anyone (outside of the Virgin Mary) was certain of Jesus identity, it was John the Baptist, "the Forerunner" who himself baptized Our Lord.

St.John the Baptist was the greatest prophet, but in terms of dignity St.Joseph was greater being the foster Father. St.Joseph was recipient of overflowing graces coming from Jesus & Mary. St.John was sanctified in the womb by the mere voice of the Theotokos who was overshadowed, while prophet Jeremiah was consecrated and received purification when he was already young as God put Words/Logos/Eucharist into his mouth. The greater mystery is God is the one who consecrate Jeremiah, while in the case of St.John, the consecration was guided by Mama Mary as She acknowledged Her role not just the Theotokos but as "Handmaid of the Lord" too, meaning Mother of all the elect before Jesus came. Kind David & King Solomon identified themselves as "son of thy handmaid", meaning they prophesied Mary as their Mother too. Mama Mary stayed from three months to protect St.Elizabeth from committing concupiscence by guiding her thru daily prayer & sacrifices. St.John the Baptist was born without original sin and free from all stain of original sin because of Mary's Maternal protection for three months. Satan cannot "touch" St.Elizabeth and St.John in the presence of the Theotokos, as Fr.Amorth had said; "Anyone who goes to Mary and pray the holy rosary cannot be touch by Satan." S&IHMMP4us. Amen

Why did Jesus add on the second part which you have missed out? The one least in the Kingdom of God IS GREATER THAN John the Baptist? Why did Jesus say this of John?? Why IS THIS not explained or preached?
