St Barnabas, Pimlico. End of a QP of Swindon S Royal. 50th anniversary compliment, Hythe Choirmaster

The final 10 minutes of a successful QP attempt on the challenging plain-bearing/wooden-headstock C&G Mears ton 10 of 1850, at St Barnabas, Pimlico; the first church to be built and laid-out according to the Tractarian model, including the surpliced choir in Chancel stalls. Sir F.A.G. Ouseley gave the brass gates of the rood screen while he Served his Title, before founding S Michael's College, Tenbury. Sir Basil Harwood's (former Pimlico Organist & Choirmaster) ashes are interred under the Chancel.
This quarter peal was dedicated to Dr (now Professor) Berkeley Hill BEM, rung on the 50th anniversary of his first service as Organist & Choirmaster of Hythe Parish Church, Kent, where he continues to hold the post in fine style. His position prior to Oct 1972 was as Organist & Choirmaster of Immanuel Church, Swindon; hence the ringing of Swindon S Royal, as he originally hails from there.
