The distinction of being a Constable is what policing is all about, it's the Crown authority for everything they do,...all the other crap, Srg, Inspector etc, are just administrative titles. They should be proud to carry the rank of Constable, that's what calls for respect, not their internal bollocks.

Any police constable or any rank that fails to identify and its on camera should be looked at by the IOPC and viewed very seriously. Would they do that in court to a magistrate or judge and say it’s here on my shoulder. The chief constable should also be questioned as to why his staff are failing in there duties to the public. I doubt it though as they really do think they are above the law don’t they. You should also ask to see his warrant card as you suspect he might be impersonating a constable if he fails to show it. Stay safe.

To be fair the two cops in the car park were really friendly and didn’t give you a hard time at all. Corrupt, rude, unprofessional and aggressive cops give the decent cops a bad name and I don’t really know why they stand for it. I’ve had plenty of interactions with police when I was younger, including being wrongly arrested three times and being beaten up once, on the one occasion that I was beaten up the cops did apologise and explain the circumstances which I accepted. That was all 30-40 years ago and things were a bit different back than, but the main difference was that normal citizens did not know their rights...Now, thanks to people like you, we understand more about our rights.
