@Anthony Broussard yep. nearly all the players in the top eight will adapt. though the top three will crush u for the mistakes you make. approaching joker with arsene isn't a mistake. approaching mkleo's joker with arsene is deadly. RESPECT MKLEO ARSENE HE IS NUMBER ONE FOR A REASON

In smash4 time there was a player who defeat mkleo with ryu, I don't remember his name, but he destroy mkleo's marth and I think his cloud. If anyone use ryu or and ken at Daigo Umehara's level in smash, he really would be #1 at Smash Ultimate. Ryu and Ken are underestimated.

@@Y3JIcs My first thought too, did the input to early for a heavy shoryuken and it only read the forward plus hold A which gives heavy ftilt, literally the only time i use it too the move is never worth using because you could've just used the hook kick to kill at that rate and is more consistent and faster

Oh my god this set was insane. With great commentary too. I love Riddles Ken as much as his Richter, first time seeing it. What I love the most is that smile and acceptance at the end, that mentality is gonna make him climb in majors

@@Ms.Microcurie Venom's gotten insanely good at ken, he's the only Ken i've seen actually shield break and do solid combos into spikes. I'd suggest seeing his fight vs Z (Cloud, Palutena) you'll see an insane combo he did on Mewtwo

Leo strong but is he that strong? from watching this set all i understood pretty much is that leo used what could be considered the game best character, nice speed good recovery easy confirm (literaly the last kill was a 2 tick upair into a confirmed downsmash) projectile that do stun (it does about the same damage as fox projectile but it has the added effect of hit stun) also he a 'sword-ish' character meaning that you cant trade hit with like a no weapon character (thus generaly any character that doesnt hit with the character model will have an upper hand like sword character or character like ness or zelda) he get a boost that roughly come at around 60% that last a while increase some of his ability and give him pretty much the game best counter. Meanwhile he had a tight fight agaisnt a much lower tier character that is highly reliant on combo with a slow moving projectile okay-ish recovery and his best finisher is tied to his up b thus missing = massive punish. All in all i do believe MK leo is quite strong but in this particular matchup it was just joker massively pulling his weight by being faster than ken having easier confirm combo and having stun projectile aswell as a better air game and recovery. Arsen doesn't help either mostly because it will alway happen and increase joker capability for a while whitout having to do the down B work, which could lead to nerf down the line making it so arsen come much later if one doesnt use down b (probably around the little max level where it would take about 90% to 110% damage before you get Ko punch)

Pacman was considered low until tea started kickin' ass now people are all like "oh top definitely top" and it'll continue to be like that for every new person that comes and makes a "low" character "god-like" basically just adapt and stop acting likes it's completely broken

Leo is good which while individual skill will help when in an unfavorable matchup the mechanics of characters fighting eachother often account a lot for how easy or hard the fight is gonna be. Which can easly be proven by checking one of the past Evo (evo 2013 to be exact) on the brink of defeat in the akuma vs balrog matchup infiltration pull out a counter hakan which is a massive counter to balrog and just start hammering in the wins.

So many amazing players have stepped up to the plate and put up such good performances but Mkleo is just an indestructible monster at this point

I think Ken has potential to counter Joker, if someone in top 8 were to play him well, like Riddles did this round. His confirms are fast, so at times Ken can kill Joker before he kills you with Arsene

Agreed, Ken kills really early which can counter Arsene, but it's kind of a difficult match up for Ken/Ryu as well though, because most of Joker's moves have multi-hits, so he eats through Focus attack.

Its the only way to beat Joker with Ken. Without shakunetsu, Ken can't contest at a range and play reactive against Joker the way Ryu can.

When you play a competitive game in tourneys, respect is immediately thrown out the window, as you should show no mercy to your opponent, but of course be aware of the character. Still gotta acknowledge the set though, Riddles did purty good against Leo

Watching this in 2022, it’s weird seeing Leo fight riddles (now a top ten player) in what looks like phase 2 pools. Also can’t believe they were talking about auto-turnaround like a novel, cool new mechanic when now people just call it cheating lmao

I highly believe him messing up that combo at the end cost him the game... damn good player and effort tho fighting the best player in the world

I watched this live. Insane match!

It's crazy to see how Leo's Joker has changed since this set. Watching him against Dabuz at Smash Factor 9, you could tell Leo was using gun a lot more in neutral and going for more stage spikes.

I just come here from recommended videos and start watching some matches since I used to play smash brawl (wii and switch now). I really got shocked by this mkleo, I only saw him loses 1 match from all the videos in a finals. This dude is a monster, so much control of the character and spaces, wins often when he is in the edge. Btw, this riddle seems really good too:)
