Ғылым және технология

In this video I am sharing with you my first CIP solution cleaning process experience . NOT "a how to video " but my first experience to clean a fermeter like this in a short periode of time:-)

Thanks for doing this video. After working at a dairy plant for 6+ years (doing daily CIPs), I've been pondering adding those spray balls to both the Mash Tun and Boil kettle and configuring an automated CIP of the full system using heated water from the HLT. Even though cleanup isn't an hours long process, I'd much rather walk away and have the system clean itself. Keep up the great videos, they're always a treat. ps: We always pronounced it "See eye pee" at work. You might be right though, who knows.

Nice I would shut the bottom valve and let it run through the racking arm for a while it should flush out any bits then return it to discharge out of the bottom, but it looks like it done a good job

I would close the bottom port then let the water/pbw cycle from the racking arm.

I was wondering what spec of submersible pump and tubing you used... looks like a great way of cleaning a conical!

Very hands on and clear info, good! I am considering setting up a very similar solution but need some data on the hose diameter and pump capacity (liters/minute). I would be very thankful if you could share the info.

Hi Glen thanks for the video I’m considering a BM50 what size ss brew tech conical do you recommend? Keep the videos coming Also I’m in Romania where do you recommend purchasing ss brew tech equipment from? You should notice if you run the pump long enough it will heat the water up so just be careful as it does continue to heat which may damage the pump depending on your pump specifications.

Hi there! I will recommend the 17 gallon version, 65 liters so you have plenty of headspace! In my opinion is the 14 gallon, 54 liters to small for 50 liter batches. I really love mine! Cheers 🍻

Thanks! It's a cheap Trotec submersible pump, works good but I recommend especially with a smaller one like mine to do it by hand. You need to clean the pump and hoses instead, using a sponge and PBW goes much faster eventually ;-) Cheer man

Nice video. Which Trotec pump are you using? Is it the 7500 L/h? What would you say would be the minimum requirement to have high enough pressure und therefore good cleaning? Thanks in advance 😉👍

A well done video, thanks! There’s one thing that REALLY needs to be answered: “..this looks “good enough for my next batch...” and this ...”looks clean enough...”. Those statements don’t cut it when it comes to a sanitary fermenter. IS THIS now fully cleaned and ready for use once you use sanitizer (say StarSan)?? Would appreciate feedback on how later fermentations turned out. If any infections this is a waste of time when you can manually clean (disassembly/reassembly required) just as quickly since you’re using butterfly valves. BTW I uses same equipment less the CIP, which I’m considering.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. The fermenter was clean, except the upper valve with the racking arm on it. It was my fault, the only good way to do this CIP is to close the bottom valve a bit so the level of cleaning solution rises in the fermenter itself and drains true the racking arm valve. I will do that next time. The fermenter was ready to use again but I cleaned the valves manually after this video. Cheers and thanks for watching

Has anyone used the spray ball for any period of time for life expectancy? Also you will burn up your pump priming it that way.
