Even after 12 years, it still gives me goosebumps re-watching the episodes. It proves that I'm still that young man 12 years ago. God I live this anime.

Love this show. I wish they'd do more as well as I wish this was still available on streaming/digital sites.

This was such an awesome way to start this series. The fight has great choreography and tension. Easily one of the best mech fights ever.

yep still kyosuke din't even met shinji if gespenst mk lll (beowulf) would be walking like an angel bloods are dropping in his stake. evangelions are ready. this guy went big again for original kyosuke there's no chance for he's gonna survive..

at 4:47 , For someone who does not know why he put "Gae Bolg" Axel and Lancer in Fate Stay Night have the same voice actor. Lancer 's weapon is Gae Bolg that's why he put "Gae Bolg" in the video.

Well I think the game did not specify whether Wendolo got infected or not. Major plot remains largely the same between the game and anime adaptation.

Also the ones who's killed Captain Daitetsu isn't that JERKASS Lee Linjun... And that's JERKASS isnt Defects to SHADOW MIRRORS (so Tetsuya not needed Ramming him with Kurogane) 😏 But I still dislike Lee linjun and that Smug snake generals Kenneth Garrett 😅

2:58 Look at this scene: SoulGain, who's about 4/3rds the size of GaoGaiGar according to tech specs, is being towered over by MK-III's "Beast" form. That thing is possibly even taller than King J-Der... and that's saying something. Holy crap.

This anime takes place in OG2, sequel to OG. The beginning of the game version, you fight another Kyosuke named Beowulf, who pilots a different Alteisen.

@Ferenczys Which would suggest it's not really "Lamia's theme", but Vysaga's. Though the music first plays in OGS' version of this scene, when Axel attacks Beowulf just before Shadow Mirror makes the jump at the end of scenario 3. And with how OGS does things you could change anyone's music to it at that point. Then OGG uses it one of the times Axel and Alfimi shows up, which would make it his theme just as much and probably a reference to theme's original use as the title music in SRW A.

@BlueKenshin - Not to mention that you don't actually get to see their fight. You only see him charge in and then dramatic explosions before textroll.

Yep. That's definitely Basara's voice. You'll never know how ecstatic I was when I heard his voice when I started watching the show. :D

@rexurtiser In Axel's dimension, Kyosuke(who used to be his teammate) came under the influence of aliens called the Einst, who turned him crazy. Also, in this universe, Excellen is dead. The Einst are the reason the Alt Eisen Nacht regenerates its arm and goes beastly. The Einst, incidentally, have also already appeared in the main timeline (episode 2)

Can.. we like .. Fight this version of the Alt in one of the games please.

This is the best version of his theme so far!

@VashxShanks: He didn't get it back. Look closely in the episode when he first arrives in the OG universe and encounters Kyousuke. The Soulgain's right lower arm was missing.

@KatayokoNoTenshi Actually that move is "Genbu Godan" but in "Super Robot Taisen A Portable" If chosen him as the main protagonist, Axel call that move "Rocket Soul Punch" You can searh SRWAP clip in youtube.

@@littleshura5178 Also Lemon and Alfimi. They could still fix that by casting a new actress in the three roles, I'd want Chisa Yokoyama since she has a similar voice and range as Yuko Mizutani did.

In the Shadow Mirror world, Excellen apparently dies for real in the Shuttle Accident, and the Einsts decided to save (and infect) Kyosuke.

Alteisen Nacht defeating the SRX is a more surprising thing than it being the same size as the super robot. I like this fight. Too bad it's non canon since Einst Kyosuke easily defeated Axel in the game from what I remember. Which is why he wanted a rematch so bad. 😱

@@AlteredProf interesting, guess initially it was meant to be portrayed that Kyosuke here became an unstoppable demon of destruction taking down the big hero mech of the first game confusing the audience greatly meanwhile Axel here in the game I assume barely escapes meanwhile in the anime they show that while a prolonged fight would probably lead to a similar outcome he was able to hold his own better

@@AlteredProf in terms of personality, Axel in SRW A are the worst, seconded by GBA SRW OG 2 in PS1 SRW OGS, Axel really toned down (a lot!) since they want him to become one of the roster as for the anime, well, yea, he IS the hero since Beowulf got the einst

People will say what they will but I DEFINITELY prefer Axel over Kyosuke

@AegisKusanagi yeah, I got that much. I wondered because I remember reading that he (Einst Beowulf) killed the entire SRX team in cold blood in the alternate world.

@@kaungkhantwin4859 Actually is a direct reference to one of Morikawa's (Kyosuke seiyuu) most famous roles, Tekkaman Blade turning into blaster mode.

@MrProMoney Yeah he is and, SPOILER: Excellen is dead in Axel's universe too. She died in the shuttle crash, whereas in the OG universe Kyosuke saved her life in the crash.

I know this may seem a nooby thing to ask but what is einst? I mean is it a disease?

Gespent Mk3 is just alternative version of Alteisen got chosen for mass production while Soul Gain is a Special unit.

Off the top of my head, the Shadow Mirrows was just one of the EFA's military groups, akin to The Agressors, the ATX and SRX Teams, the Octo-Squad, etc. As they were using the R units, I'm going to assume they also had an SRX Team.

What is the name of the song played here? I've been looking for it forever so I can make it my ring tone haha.

Not entirely. At this point, the influence of the Einst had affected not just Kyosuke but his Alteisen Nacht aswell; its power output was closer to, if not greater than a Super robot. Look at how it overpowers Soulgain. And then there's the fact that Kyosuke is a really skilled pilot; better than Ryusei, who takes main control of the SRX out of their team.

Minor correction, the Nacht is the name of the 9 meter tall bot in EF. Beowulf uses a Gespenst MkIII since they continued the Gespenst line instead of pursuing the Huckebeins after a certain incident involving the RTX-008R [the one that blew up with Rai in it].

@@Rakushio Don't forget, the SRX is practically on a time limit because of the strain placed on Aya keeping the SRX together and generating Nendon Fields, something Alt is designed to break through. Now just supercharge it.

@@GenesicKaiser He was extremely cool in SRW A. Totally different kind of personality. In OG he was a hot blooded serious idealistic guy but in A when he lost his memory he bacame a super aloof protagonist who's the opposite of serious (a jokester/playful kinda guy), and he always help other people out with their life/love problem. Like for example, he smashed a group of GM Sniper by himself so that Shiro Amada and Aina could made up.

@Foulknercloud Because in the SM universe, the Gespenst Mk III went into production, so the "Alteisen" codename, was never became widely known among the pilots. In OG1 the Aleisen were introduced as a discontinued model, so nobody even bothered using the official name( aside of Marion Radom )because: 1. it is an one of kind machine 2. Altiesen sounded cooler. :)
