SRILANKA 10 DAYS TOTAL BUDGET
We visited Srilanka for 10 days and here is the breakdown of our total budget:
✈️ Return Flights costed us INR 42699 for two person from Mumbai. We opted for Indigo low cost airlines which had a stopover at Banglore both the times for 3 hrs.
You can go for Direct flights too with Srilankan airlines however that turns out around 5k extra per person so we chose to save that bucks 💰 Also we booked our flights just month in advance so maybe you can get ituch cheaper if your booking it 3 months prior. Also flights from Chennai way cheaper incase you want to fly from there.
📄 E-visa cost per person
Rs. 1740 and we filled our E-visa form online on the website eta.gov.lk/slvisa/
And the evisa was delivered via email to us in 24 hrs. Please make sure you make the payment on the right website as there are many hoax websites online.
🛜 Simcard
We purchased Dialog Sim card from the airport directly. Simcards start from Rs. 350 onwards with 20 GB data so you can opt as per your preference.
🛺 We planned to explore the island country through a tuktuk. So we booked our tuktuk through @tuktukrentals for just 22 USD per day. You can get your temporary Srilankan permit done in 24 hrs for 40 USD from them itself.
🏨 Hotels : We opted for a mix of budget, mid range, high range and luxury stays across 10 nights which costed us around 20000 INR
🍜 Food : Most of our expense on food was for dinner as lunches ended up always eating at some snack joint and breakfast was mostly complimentary in our stays. We also visited the the supermarts alot so we ended up spending around 20k in food and alcohol in total over 10 days.
⛰️ Sightseeing: Most of the sightseeing attractions are free in Srilanka but for few of the paid attractions like the elephant safari, whale watching, sigiriya lion rock, the entry charges are quite high which you can easily skip if your on budget for sure.
💆 Experiences : We totally recommend going for the Ayurvedic Full body spa service at Green Chayya Spa in Kandy and Ella Hela Osu Suwapiyasa Ayurweda Spa in Ella. Charges are around Rs. 1300 per person. We haven't included the experiences in our breakdown as it will vary person to person.
🛒🛍️ Shopping : You can shop for Magnets, Raksha Masks, Ceylon Tea, Cane and Bamboo products, Elephant souvenirs for back home. We ended up shopping for around 7k which is not included in our total budget as it will vary accordingly person to person.
So basically, you can easily cover Srilanka for 10 days within 50k INR per person and even less of your only staying in budget hostels, eating street food and travelling through public transport so I should say less than 35k for sure 😃
