Sri Lanka transfers Hambantota's Mattala Airport management to India-Russia consortium For 30 Years
Sri Lanka’s Aviation Minister, Nimal Siripala de Silva, has announced that the Mattala International Airport in Hambantota will be handed over to a joint India-Russia venture within the next few weeks.
The Mattala International Airport, once dubbed the “world’s emptiest airport” due to its lack of flights, was awarded to the India-Russia joint venture in April. This USD 209 million facility, built during former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s rule, has been a financial burden due to heavy losses.

sri lankans think the same way as you , we are okay with indians but they have no right to block others having relations with china just bcz of they dont like it , and Im also happy to be influenced by china which is a genuine friend and has cool culture architecture and food

I think it's an strategic win by Indian government. Their diplomacy is admirable on this aspect.
I've worked with Sri Lankans in U.A.E, UK and Canada. So, let me tell you. They do not even try to hide their dislike for Indians or anything of India. India is just being taken for a ride here.

yes sri lankans dont like imperialist people. they never was under any indian rule totally for last three thousand years (cholas just controled northern SL for less than 80 years, so it doesnt count bcz it was not whole SL and if any ruler want to rule lanka, he must approved by sri lankan sangha samaja , and must get the blessings of sacred tooth relic of buddha in kandy, cholas never could do either of em)

sri lankans are always open for friendship , but the last few times sri lanka gave india chances, india backstabbed thats why sri lankans dont trust india anymore 1- in 1987 suddenly supporting ltte and drag sri lankan wrr 22 more years 2-voted against SL in UN but thanks to China and russia voted for sri lanka sri lanka freed 3-fueled 1988 JVP riots which k***ed 60 000 lankans 4- propagated against CFC in overseas to not invest there so until india build trust no neighbours will ever truely believe
