സ്കൂൾ-കോളേജ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കിടയിലെ ആത്മഹത്യ കുറയ്ക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിൽ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ചെന്ന് കുട്ടികളെ കേൾക്കുന്ന 'ചങ്ങാതി' എന്നൊരു NGO ഉണ്ട്. ചങ്ങാതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി കുട്ടികളെ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ മനസ്സിലെ പല മുറിവുകളും, ചിന്തകളും അമ്പരപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേൾക്കാനൊരാളുണ്ടായാൽത്തന്നെ ആത്മഹത്യകൾ വലിയൊരു പരിധിവരെ ഇല്ലാതാകും.

Salute mam, its really shocking to see kids doing suicide , especially age between 6..14 ... Let this episode be an eye opener for parents to stop pressuring their kids and let them grow with their talents and passion.

Good Morning Ma’am, I came across you for the first time when I received your video in which you spoke about child suicides. The most important point is that the parents must encourage children to talk all kinds of adversities on a holiday with the promise that the child will not be reprimanded even if it is a fault from his side. This will build the required trust which will bring down such tendencies to some extent.

സത്യം.. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് വന്നാൽ പോലും ഒന്ന് ഫ്രീ ആയി ഇരിക്കാൻ പറ്റുന്നില്ല. രാവിലെ മുതൽ വൈകിട്ട് വരെ സ്കൂളിൽ പോയി പഠിച്ചിട്ടാണ് വരുന്നത്. പിന്നെ ട്യൂഷൻ. ഒരു ദിവസം മുടക്കുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ കുറച്ചു കൂടുതൽ പഠിക്കാൻ കൊടുക്കും. പോരാത്തതിന് ശനിയാഴ്ച ക്ലാസ്സും വെക്കും. അത് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിലെ ഒരു ഭാരം തന്നെയാണ്. പിന്നെ അതിന്റെ കൂടെ വീട്ടിലേം ചുറ്റിനുമുള്ള മറ്റു പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ. കുടുംബവുംമായി ഇരിക്കാൻ പറ്റുന്നില്ല. ജോലിക്ക് പോകുന്ന മാതാപിതാക്കൾ അവരുടെ അശ്രദ്ധ നേരമില്ലായ്‌മ എല്ലാം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ഈ അവസ്ഥയിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുന്നു.

Most children these days have clear idea about these things. I think india as a democratic country should adopt rules in Netherlands regarding suicide and euthanasia. There's a book called "the peaceful pill" by Philip Nitchke is a must read.
