I’ve seen a lot of hatred towards Sonic X online, so it’s very refreshing to see a gigantic love letter to Sonic X. All the references in both X Sonic’s expressive animations and this trailer put a massive smile on my face, and I hope that this mod puts even more smiles on more people’s faces when it comes out.

I don’t think chris is that bad i just think he could’ve used some writing touch ups pre season 3 But yeah alot of people don’t give it a fair shot especially when there are so many people overreacting about the sub/dub differences at least most everyone agrees that S3 is dope I absolutely love it show, especially it’s music, which nobody talks about for some reason. I mean remember how the spin dash sounds would always sync with the music? coolest thing ever!

Badass mod 10/10 used to love waking up at 5 in the morning to watch Sonic X as a kid

Given I watched Sonic X everyday after school when I was younger the references in the animations and shots in this trailer hit me with a large dose of nostalgia

This mod looks so cool (also the fact that KZread can automatically mark your videos as made for kids is so stupid)

@@humbertoemerson5700 They don't have one aside from "2024". According to Blueblur on the SRB2 forums the mod's somewhere like 75-80% done. I'd say probably somewhere like Mid-2024 (somewhere from April to August, probably) for an estimate given how this mod has been in development since 2020, but there's no exact date.

Of all the VFX i’ve seen across SRB2, I find that GoldenShine always goes above and beyond the most. It’s always exciting to see what he cooks up for mods like these, he is absolutely perfect in that manner! Otherwise, great job on animating the character and scheming the trailer as a whole!

This is honestly just so amazing. Sonic X is a huge part of my childhood and a big reason why I am a Sonic fan even to this day. It is also the reason I am able to draw Sonic and one of my comforts is just doodling him lol. This is so faithful in every way, it even includes the weird thing they do with the spikes when you see him from behind, and honestly I think that looks really cool for a 2D Sonic! One thing I’d bring up as a suggestion would be an alternate Super transformation animation where he just floats in mid air, closes his eyes, and then fades into the Super form in a very calm way with his hair flowing and a big flash of yellow light. I love the Super transformation you went with, as that part of the opening is so amazing and well animated. But in the actual show he always transforms in a very tranquil way and I’d like if that were an option.I understand if you can’t do that though as I know animation is hard. Just a suggestion!

Man I CANNOT WAIT hope it gets a 3D Model as well

(In that game, Mickey's ears were 'billboard-style' 2d sprites that would rotate around his head, said rotation relative to the camera's angle.) Either that, or make two separate hair models? (The eame thing done for characters that have hair that flips horizontally depending on the angle they're facing.) Whichever one they go for in making the model, I'm all for it, really. ^^ * Answering this now so I won't have to edit it; 'Billboard-style' sprites are basically 2D sprites on flat 3D planes that always face the camera. Back in the N64/Saturn/PSX days, this was almost always used in games to render certain background elements & stage elements in games without using too much data. Good examples include (But aren't limited to)... Trees, poles & coins in 'Super Mario 64'... Characters, items and track obstacles in 'Mario Kart 64'... Common collectibles (like koban coins and 'Lucky/Beckoning Cat' dolls) in 'Goemon's Great Adventure'... Collectibles and link rings in 'NiGHTS: Into Dreams...' The item cards, bombs, explosions, Deca-Bombs, and Super Deca-Bombs in 'Saturn Bomberman: Fight!'... Some stage elements in 'Kid Klown in Crazy Chase 2: Love Love Honey Soudatsusen!'... And a good bunch of stuff in 'DOOM' and (in this case) 'Sonic Robo Blast 2/SRB2'!

Keep up the great work! this mod has to be my most anticipated one so far. Just seeing the animations and movement of sonic, this really does stay true to the actual source itself seeing him in his full glory but in game format puts a smile on my face. I didn't think anyone would actually do it but you and everyone who is working on this mod fucking did it and I am in love with it.

It’s refreshing getting some Sonic X rep, I really liked this series as a kid and I took notice to all the references made. Seeing the ring burst being used was also cool since they don’t use it as much later in the series.

Good shit. X Sonic looks like a fucking wild ride to play as, and a grorgeous as hell characater when you're not treating the level design like shit. Hopefully that's enough swear words to help deture the KZread bots.

The will power and creativity of the Sonic the hedgehog mod/game creation community will never not amaze me. Also if I grew up with the Japanese version of the Sonic X intro I would fundamentally be a different person

As much as the anime had interesting content, I always disliked how the only gave Sonic three quills, when he's supposed to have six on his head. But this? This is peak Sonic no matter the origin material. Extra points for using the japanese opening!
