Wow, so simple. I had no clue how to do this. I am going to check my 250 now. Thanks for the video!

If you take it from the front or rear only in a bore that large then the piston can rock over to one side under pressure of the solder and may give you a wider value than it actually is, you might want to shove 2 bits of wire in facing opposite sides of the piston and measure both.

I actually measured it at the side, where the piston can’t rock significantly. When I have the engine back together I’ll try at the front, one time with just one piece of solder and a second time with two pieces (front and rear) of solder to see how much the difference is

@@TokyoOffroad Yep in line with the wrist pin is better, small end has minimal clearance.

I have KTM EXC 300 2017, I installed PK TEK. It says 13.4 what's the difference with 14.1. Squish 0.94 / 0.96 I'm sorry for my bad English

Brad Hilaire - With an RK Tek head approximately 1mm. I measured 1.08mm and don’t plan on changing that when I rebuild the engine. I’ll use the same base gasket thickness as now...

Ok sweet I have taken 0.5mm from my stock head but added a small amount to the base and have come up with 1.34mm now has a bit more torque and by lifting the base it seams to have retained the top end maybe a tad more ??? Cheers Brado
