2008 Southern Humboldt CA as a tenant was moving out squatters watched and as soon as the previous tenant was completely vacated the squatters moved in before the UHaul truck was out of sight in me rental cottage. Sheriffs chatted with them then told me to go to court to evict them. I didnot. Instead I watched them and as soon as they left for groceries or something similar I MOVED IN! And when they returned I called the sheriffs again for a home invasion and attempted assault situation. And they were taken away and booked for home invasion. There were injuries to the perps. But I defended meself as I am a blackbelt instructor. Yup. Oh no they never came back although months later I saw them in town being arrested for shoplifting from one of the businesses. Never saw them again.

@Aaron Scarpa I'm not justifying squatting, that is a crime. I am just pointing out that tax dollars are being used to subsidize a for-profit business that should either have a caretaker living in the property or hire security to keep criminals from moving into the neighborhood. At this point I think other homeowners could have a case of negligence against the bank if more squatters move in and the bank doesn't secure the property correctly.

If youre not going to live in a house, don't buy it. Otherwise, f--k you for driving up real estate prices for no reason. That goes 1000x for overseas based real estate investors, who I wish all the squatters in the world on. In fact, what we really need is an updated list of foreign investor owned properties and then to distribute that list to squatters and the homeless so that they know exactly where to go.

Her husband passed a few years prior to our contract and she wasn’t able to keep up with the repairs like he did. She came downstairs one night and found random strangers standing in her living room. They had crawled under the side skirting of the patio and had been living in her basement for at least a couple weeks ( I found a diary down there, even ). Our job was to just sit on her porch and check all the entrances/locks and the backyard every 30mins - 1hr or so. I never saw anybody of note, but we kept finding suspicious new crack pipes on the ground… 🤷‍♂️ it’s a mystery - Scooby Doo!

It was quite simple one morning at 8:00am a D 9 Dozer was unloaded, and moved towards the house. The squatters were given two warnings to get out. They ignored them. The Dozer pushed through the Living room portion of the house, and moments later 9 barely clothed Squatters come running out a side door. After 30 minutes. The remains of the house were loaded into awaiting Dump trucks and hauled off. The Squatters informed they plan to sue my Dad. In the end, my Dad was fined $45.00 for failing to obtain a Demolition Permit before leveling the house. The Squatters lost all of there property and the Lawsuit of theirs was thrown out.

That's a perfect way to make new homeowners change their minds quick, fast, in a hurry, it'll mark the beginning of the end of home ownership, and once homes are not selling no more, because present and future home owners went on a strike, thanks to the city's refusal to do something about squatters, give them severe punishments, and when they fail to reply, arrest them, charge them with a felony charge, strip them of any disability payment, money assistance, or any type of entitlement they're receiving, and give them a super long prison sentence, and permanently ban them from any assistance! Betcha it'll get their attention!

Yeah, the taxpayer funded ACLU, has a 'How To Subvert Law Abiding Citizens By Squatting'. Seriously. This country has long gone to far, in allowing such virtue signaling organizations, to ruin the foundation of this country, which is the law abiding, taxpaying citizen.

The thing is, PRIOR to them having time to establish/reestablish residency there, which requires proof that they use the address, receive mail there, have no trespass warning at that address, and have been living there as a resident, they can still be charged with breaking and entering. They only have established residency rights once residency has been established. That first night, in particular, the police sure can lawfully remove and prosecute them.

Why cant they be arrested for B&E? If the police and the homeowner can verify the house was locked, they had to have broken in, which is illegal.

I am long term homeless & I often sleep rough but I still retain my moral code between right & wrong. To the squatters, you are a disgrace. Get your crap together. Respect people’s property. If you want to sleep in a house then work towards that. With the emphasis on ‘work’ otherwise be content with your swag or whatever it is you call home.

America lost its conscience, morality, and integrity with Row vs Wade. Kill an unborn child because it's 'a lump of flesh' and just inconvenient, and you end up with moral zombies whether they admit it or not. Condone it and you're no better. Vote for it and there's blood-guilt and complicity. Morally bankrupt is a good description. Fake replacement morals are human rights issues that enable criminal or sinful activities and discrimination. There's a term you don't hear nowadays, that something is a sin. Satan is smart and winning what he can before he is terminated forever.

When squatters have more rights than owners, the so-called American Dream turns into the American Nightmare, and that is f'ed up. I live in a stand your ground state, and if I walk in my home and there's a stranger there, I will *not* hesitate to regain what belongs to my family. Period.

Begin a "remodel" project for those nice squatters. Smash out all the glass in the first floor windows, remove all the doors and pull out all the carpet. " Oops, The replacements are on back order; I'm sure they'll be here soon ." Repairs will cost less than eviction.

Love it when people look down on others they have never met. You just because they do not look they way you think people should look. Must be nice to be so perfect. However, those types of attitudes are using hiding low self esteem and small people afraid people will see who they really are.
