world class match between Farag and Momen!
You can just sense that in the pressure moments, all those wars with Ashour/Gaultier/Matthew have served Elshorbagy so well, he isn't phased by anything that gets thrown at him anymore, he's seen it all

Well this aged badly
That last rally between Farag and Momen! damn!!! I lost a bet with a friend that Momen will beat Farag LOL. Very satisfying two games though.
Mo looks unstoppable right now but this final's gonna be a class match.

agree I would give them a break because of COVID thou
Don’t take anything away from Coll he’s playing at a top 3 level, Shorbagy was just absolutely incredible in this tournament, my pick is Shorbagy in 4 for the final
Elshorbagy is such a classy player. Gracious when he loses, composed when he wins!

Only problem is he's blocking regardless.

@@watching99134 Marwan blocks and leaves trailing legs and... Mohammed ElShorbagy was just putting so much pressure on that the Coll's shots were looser than he'd like. This gave Mo time on the T and the right to draw Coll into the wrong line. It's not blocking if it's during your shot. You just can't afford to be loose against him as his shot selection atm is just superb and his weight of shot has his opponents scrambling. Farag is going to have a tough one.
Watching Ali and Tarek, both of them were playing balls that could have easily been strokes in their favour, and Mohamed's looking ominous, Paul did well to take a game and push him in the 4th.......very precise attritional squash.
YOW. That first semi was some of the highest-quality squash I've ever seen
Momen could have taken a stroke on the last. Good that he played it tho

Momen should have taken a moment... to consider. Great match.
Inspirational all round. Both victors match winners says it all 😊
Mohamed El Shorbaggy appears to have gone to a higher level this last year; very strong all over the court. Don't see Farag being able to live with him for a while, unless he too can find an extra gear. Or two.

How wrong I was!
No one seems to come close to Momen at making Farag look uncomfortable and scrabbling on court, great match!
Shorbagy looking unstoppable!
What an amaizing match
Well done Mohamed!
why only show half of a rally @ 14:20 ??
Egypt on fire 🔥🔥
Good fight in both games.

i did not see a fight in the second, it was more like a training session!
Definitely been talking about the gap between Sherbini and the rest of the women, but the gap between the top three men (Shorbagy, Momen and Farag) is just as stark. When they are in form, scarcely nobody can do anything against them right now.

I hope Coll introduces some new shots to his repertoire, at that high level his one dimensional attrition game won’t get him to number 1. His opponents can read his game too easily.
16:08 true ankletwister from coll for momed
I'm a HUGE Farag fan, but I wished that both he and Momen could have somehow won.

Coll makes these tiny, tiny 'errors' an just gets brutally punished by El Shorbaggy
Paul has peaked, no higher than maybe number 3 in the world. He is Farag's bunny, Mo is clinical and Asal will eventually overtake Coll on the rankings,

Why do these referees never do anything about the blocking and stepping slightly into each others lines to the ball? Examples: Momen at 1:48 and Shorbagy at 17:30
@M0odez
2 жыл бұрын
Because the movement occurs entirely during their own swing, which includes the follow-through. 17:30 is a perfect, entirely legal, example where Shorbagy is aware of Coll's movement, so he moves with Coll as he plays the ball, and as a result there's no possibility that a line will be available to Coll even if he makes every effort to clear after his shot is completed. So essentially the difference between the legal "shut out" and actual "blocking" is the timing in relation to the swing (assuming the swing itself is not deemed excessive).
@filda2005
2 жыл бұрын
ugh the slowmo of 1:48 is head cutting swing with full speed as farag jumpst into followthrough. watch 17:30 left foot didnt change place so its rly a delicate interference
@georgekrumm1857
2 жыл бұрын
@@M0odez Good explanation, thanks. I'd add that (1) the swing has to be normal, not exaggerated or wild - these both look fine, and (2) you still have to do your best to avoid blocking your opponent once you finish your swing, but if your opponent chooses the wrong way around you, that's on them. At 1:48, Farag has a path to the ball in front of Momen, which he takes. At 17:30, Coll is still getting back into position when El Shorbagy finishes his swing, and isn't anywhere near getting that ball, so it's a moot point.
@philharris5848
2 жыл бұрын
If the referees gave more "let'" decisions, instead there's far too many "strokes" and "no let's." Players who hit good shots would be encouraged to give their opponent more reasonable access. At the moment players make little effort to clear when they know officials tend to give "no let."
@Syko12341
2 жыл бұрын
@@M0odez I will agree that the example with Shorbagy is _maybe_ not a good example of purposeful interference, however, the example with Momen is just blatant obstruction. Such an exaggerated movement during that swing is most definitely not positional adjustment as you can see he moves slightly, then prepares his shot. At this point he is already comfortable enough to take the shot, so why must he move half a meter to the right? It's a clear attempt at interference.
I want to know who was the idiot saying “wooooo” everytime momen won a point 😑
These replays are getting ridiculous
