Mr. Meta, your ladder work gave me an "animal house" movie flashback with Belushi. You can skip the gym this week. Nice work.

Great video! Its amazing what you can do with battery operated power tools! Can't wait to see the metal roof. Good luck! Stay safe!

I was thinking the same thing about those battery tools. So far I've used them for almost everything whereas just a few years ago I was entirely hand-tools and corded tools on jobs. Wild how things have changed.

That's a monstrous undertaking for primarily one person. Kudos to you for taking it on and making it happen. Not an easy task. Are your cargo boxes setting on concrete or sauna tubes?

It’s been a un one. Yeah on tubed concrete piers …. If I were to do it again I’d pour box piers that were bigger

If you used construction grade screws they will hold three times with a nail will hold then you would not have to use so many nails.
@metaspencer
Жыл бұрын
yeah you said it: construction screws are the best and great because you can always unscrew them. I went with nails in this case (as I recall) because of time and cost
If you have to choose between under-building or over-building...always go with the latter! That roof will last until the shipping containers rot out and fall apart. :)

Impressive! How is your ms these days if you don’t mind me asking?
@metaspencer
2 жыл бұрын
I'm always happy to talk about the old MS. :) Things have been going great now for over 6 years -- remission with no exacerbations thanks it seems to my anti-inflammatory diet and vitamin D. So no meds and going strong. I never know what's next but I'm optimistic. Thanks man
Got to ask maybe someone already has screws are not structural are you using structural screws
@metaspencer
2 жыл бұрын
Just construction screws which is why I go back and nail around them. Just my process since screws can come out when preliminary changes need to happen

Spencer, what model is that nail gun?
@metaspencer
2 жыл бұрын
I got this one: amzn.to/3un3Nwl ... puts in a 3.5" nail but I had to look around for nails that were paper-collated instead of plastic. The plastic ones blow plastic bits everywhere as you nail (bugs me). The only other one I've worked with is the Dewalt, which I liked a lot.
