Hi! Great review again! But one thing. I've made this colors too, not Emilio, he only draw and inked the issue. Oh, and I'm glad that the colors were nice here also. Thanks!

Giving Dan Abnett two issues is foul. Anyways, can't wait to see your review on Ninjak vs Roku.

I completely agree. One of the best writers Valiant has had recently and they only give him two issues. 👎👎👎

You totally nailed it with this review. Wow what a let down! Abnett comes up with a great concept and editorial destroy it with ham fisted tie ins. We’ve gone from zero continuity under DMG to too much continuity under Alien, where it feels ‘forced’ and detrimental to the story. I thought this issue was corny the way it played out and I don’t think this was what Abnett wants to write. Alien have to understand that many of these secondary characters haven’t appeared in books for years so to have them all show up is pretty jarring . I don’t know what a new reader would make of all these character showing up left, right and centre! The art was a shocker. Has the artist actually seen Gilad before? You mentioned the hands but look at Rai’s right foot on page 9 of issue one where he and Ray/Alice are fighting Darius…yikes!! If Alien don’t have the money for a higher tier artist …then just don’t release the book. Every dud release is another nail in the coffin.

This book could have been so much more, and I don’t blame Abnett. You’re certainly right about continuity. It’s like the books are too interconnected now where everything feels forced. Hopefully, they don’t continue like this for too long.

Why does faith get 4 issues but rai gets only 2? They shouldve made it at least 4 issue series or if your gonna make it 2 issues then make it a graphic novel like eternal warrior scorched earth. Did they really left us hanging with the howling war? And if they did then why just why valiant?! It doesnt make sense that they added rai into the valiants like rai didn't need to be in the valiants its just gonna make the series even more messy than it is. And they should've finished the howling war storyline because i like the idea of rai having to choose to either fight alongside master darque or bloodfather but they freaking ruined it! Other words the howling war had potential and is a Great idea and could've been fantastic but they left the story hanging like if it was nothing and it felt like valiant wanted rai in the valiants so they decided to tell dan abnett they wanted him in the valiants and rushed him to finish it. Valiant: i want you to finish your work on rai. Dan: ok, i wil make a story where rai has to decide to join darque or father and where they are in the howling war. Valiant: ok sounds great but just make 2 issues and have ivar take him to the modern day. Dan: why? Valiant: because fans like rai and he needs to be in the valiants. Dan: but sir.... Valiant: just do it!! I know its cringe and things happened differently behind the scenes but thats sort of what i felt happened. And i really enjoyed #1 matter in fact i thought it was better than xo manowar invictus #2 in story and concept wise but #2 was very rushed and sort of made rai sound selfish by leaving his buddies. And utrera's art looked decent in the 1st but in 2nd it just doesnt look all that great and like you said eternal warrior looks ugly like his head looks fat like not me but my brother would've drawn eternal warrior better and utrera is a unique artist in his own way and no disrespect to his art because my art looks no better and he is a great inker a very good inker but he doesnt really fit rai or superheroes too much although if given more time it probably would've looked a little better. But Salvador sanz or shintaro kago wouldve been a great artist for rai. And the colorist @Hexekiel did pretty good. And when theirs a storyline like this i hope valiant learns to have them tske their time and tell a great story and finish it not rush it just for the sake of adding the character to the event and fan service that not done entirely welland not finish it. But oh well. I knew they were going to rush it. It kinda feels like valiant interfered a lot with dan in the new series. Yeah definition of squandered and wasted potential. Anways great video and cant wait to read and watch your review for ninjak vs roku.

Yeah I agree that Valiant editorial handcuffed Dan Abnett by forcing him to cram in other storylines!
