Also, if you manage to not lose eggs in the progress...and go through the door it will actually take you to the Sorcceres's Lair (unless Buzz comes in and takes you to the bonus level), however after 10-20 seconds of fight, the game takes you to Sunrise Springs, RESTARTING the game completely, with 0% completed...just wow. On top of that there is actually no water (sometimes) at the end, so if you fall there it's basicly game over. I have traumas from this game, i was just a kid...

Yeah good times. LMAO XD I got my copy when I was with my father on the flee market, the first copy didn't work at all, and the second one was... you guessed it. SAME AS IN THIS VIDEO!!! I got to the sorcerer's lair and I got my file deleted back to 0%. I just turned off the game and never to be played again. I was just a kid so that was a bit traumatising. DANG! XD

this is the games anti piracy causing this normally happens on pirate versions of spyro 3 with the only way to tell is if zoe mentions the game might be hacked before completing the first world

You can also tell this is an illegal copy as when you went back in to get on the Balloon/ Rocket Ship, there was Zoe there. That's not normal. If you walk up to her, she'll say "I'm sorry Spyro but you seem to be playing a hacked version of this game, this may be an illegal copy. Since this copy has been modified, you may experience problems that would not occur on a legal copy." And like I said in my last comment, once the game finds that the game has been hacked the game starts glitching itself so you can't complete it. They call this "Hack Protection" and not many games have it! Basically it's Insomniac Game's way of getting revenge on someone who downloads an illegal copy. Might I mention it also corrupts the saves on the PS1 Memory Card upon saving the game! And like I said before, downloading ISOs is illegal anyhow, so why not just buy a cheap copy on eBay! You can get LEGAL PAL copies for under $20.

Cyortonic Well they still promote it on their Website. But yeah the PlayStation 1's end of support was in 2006, so they probably don't make copies of it anymore.

The problem is that you have a pirate copy, and this game has protections to those things

This. For anyone in hold of a legit CD copy who wants to rip a proper ISO of the game, I recommend using a program called CloneCD. Had no problems playing Spyro 2 and 3 rips. Was a pain to figure out how to rip the game properly for my phone and backing up to HDD.

I'm honestly surprised you didn't talk to Zoe at 3:42, when she appeared somewhere she wasn't supposed to appear. The moment I ran into her and got the answer I was looking for, I realized what was going on. and no, going to battle Scorch doesn't help you much, as the anti-piracy glitches get worse and worse by the time you play on Midnight Mountain, and the biggest hit comes when you battle the sorceress.

i've had the same thing, i was super happy when my dad got me spyro 3 back then, but i've noticed some weird things about this game. Then i found out it was an copy , from paradox

I remember this happening to me as a young kid. Always really creeped me out- especially when the fairy told me to stop playing the game. I had no idea I was playing a pirated copy (as were my other ps1 games. I had a good older brother.) Good times.

It's a anti piracy method, to get rid of it either clone ur CD on the computer or download a newer iso from the internet

+EXcentriX No, the PS3/PSP/PS Vita version works just fine. I mean, it has its own issues, but not due to the anti-piracy measures. Just the smaller stuff from the earlier versions, such as the Sorceress' music being Sunrise Spring mistakenly.

I can't help but wonder if the crack protection spazzed out and had these unintended effects...

Some of this glitch has happened to me, but this is far beyond what I've seen... great video!

I think this is cause this game has piracy code in it, meaning if it detects piracy (it being played on an emulator or a system it isn't familiar with) it will try and mess up your game making it unplayable. Bascially the game is telling you to go buy a real copy :v

Aaaahhh, it's so nostalgic Illegal Spyro3 was the only one I had, so imagine how "happy" I was when it started glitching like hell :DD Also in this version eggs and gems tend to disappear after arriving the Lake homeworld xDD

I still remember this. I bought a pirate copy and these glitch occured when i go to last homeworld making the game not finishable. I bought more copy though but it is also pirated and have these glitch when playing with console. Anyway I downloaded a working ISO and played it in emulator and got 117% without any problem and curing my trauma with the pirate copy.

3:43 -- I know this video is like 9 years old, but it's kinda funny how you try to skip Zoe who would've told you exactly what was going wrong. lel

I find these glitches kind of memorable for me, when I was a kid I had a hacked copy of this spyro, all these glitches happened. ALL OF THEM(not to mention the missing gems or when suddenly the main eggs from Sheila,Sgt Byrd and Bentley levels were missing after geting them many times already). And well, I got used to them, I have a heartwarming sensation when I see them again xD Oh and a main glitch was, when I was finaly able to fight the Sorceress, the game suddenly resets.

Not as bad as mine. [Never made a vid on it] I was going through Molten Crater and my game froze for about 5 seconds. It came back for about 2 seconds and then stayed frozen. After reloading the game, Sparx apparently starting talking to me using the Moneybags: After the Final Chase dialouge. I went ahead and entered Molten Crater after suddenly getting from about 900 gems to 99999. And all the sprites were F*CKED. Just f*cked. Spyro became a GIGANTIC Sparx, Sparx became part of a wall flying next to me, and after I killed something, my game froze. I couldn't load that save anymore without it freezing. Deleted save

This may be your CD that may have files corrupted, or it's too old. I think it has nothing to do with anti-piracy. It used to happen something similar to me but with Pro Pinball Timeshock! with an illegal copy(it does not have anti-piracy protections). The music suddenly stops and game starts lagging to death, you can't pause, the ball(s) in play leave(s) fingerprints to the playfield and after 10-15 seconds, it freezes

PAL is a region. It stands for the European continents (when a publisher ships the game, there's a little box with PAL or NTSC, and if it's NTSC, it's the Americas, although there is a NTSC-J, standing for Japanese releases). ISO, for lack of a better definition, is in this case, a game file. In the video, the uploader was having problems with the game because his ISO is corrupted. You'll understand if you look into this more.

I've tried using the emuparadise PAL ISO as well but it refuses to load any level apart from Cloud Spires. I have the same issue whenever I try to use the ISO from my actual game disc. I've tried both PSXFin and ePSXe and I get the same results each time. I've fiddled about with the BIOS too and that has done nothing. This is really pissing me off lol.

Isn't this just what happens if you have a bootleg or burned copy?

@artsyalchemist2009 There is actually a code to get the hacking voice from Zoe and other voice messages from other characters. What you do is you pause the game enter square, square, circle, circle, square, square, circle, circle then after that just keep pressing up and down to scroll through the voices. The Zoe hacking speech is the first one when you press down after putting in the code.

I also have Paradox version and the glitch I know is Sparx is in green when starting after many loses against Spike and still green when being fed butterflies.

Legal copies of games pretty much weren't a thing that was realistically available in Argentina in the early 00s so I could never beat this game. I remember randomly getting a cutscene in which bianca (I think?) gets kidnapped and after that the rocket became available and took me straight to the next nexus level, from where I could only go to the final boss of the game, and it was unbeatable, or at least I think it was. This was ages ago so I don't remember everything clearly.

i got these on a speed run against friend. still technically beat him, just had sparx on green for the entire run... But it happened on a legal copy just kinda used SpyroEdit on it

Something similar to this happens in Spyro 3 Hacked! I'm not sure about bentley part, but for the Sorceress' Liar you have to re-enter all of the levels in the 1st three homeworlds, because all of the completing the level eggs have dissapeared, when you do that and come back to Midnight Mountain all of the levels from Sunrise Spring are there.

I've been Downloaded Spyro 3 Platinum PAL. and it worked on PSX v1.13 (psxfin), so i used CEP to enabling Moon Jump Cheat. But i don't play Spyro 3 NTSC without Greatest Hits, due it's because of Copy Protection.

this happens on my real PS1...I had paradox version of Spyro 3 and on Sorceress Lair it takes me back to first homeworld with no eggs and gems...really annoying -_- but 8bit music at the beginning of that hacked copy was great :D

@YouAllSuck5000 Thanks. And yes but I deleted it because I was originally doing that LP in conjunction with zippcast but zippcast is dead now so there was no point in having it there. I'll most definitely redo the LP sometime in the future.

I literally still own the entire original trilogy but because I don't have the space for a console I can't play them without being considered a pirate and being punished in the game for trying to enjoy something I own.

So, you can play the hacked (or illegal copied or glitched or whuteva) version on emulators too. I have all these same glitches on my PSX version and you know that really pissed me off as a kid that I couldn't finish the game the proper way... 3:42 If you would've talked to in that part Zoey, she would've warned/told you that you're playing the hacked version of Spyro 3. 5:47 And lol, your name (or shortened version of it) pops out.

by the way when you put your game on the console doesn't it appear a paradox icon with the face of a bear?? if it that so my game had the same fucking glitches :/ and the most fucked up was in the final boss fight the sorcerer has the song of the sunrise spring and after a minute the game took me back to the very beggining of the game with no gems and no eggs and had to collect them all again... like if the save files were absolutely deleted

Yep, that's the most famous illegal copy glitch, ain't it? Also, the Sunrise Spring theme for the Sorceress boss isn't a glitch, it's typical of some copies of the game, and it's that way on those because of time constraints behind the game scenes. However, on the Greatest Hits version, the Sorceress fight has its own theme.

Yes :/ the one I have has Sunrise Springs theme on the Sorceress boss fight my cousin had the game too same glitches but the Sorceress had its own theme ^^ he could finally complete it years later with an emularor the game he downloaded came perfect so he could sai Ha! ^^

I had 100% the same problems like you, when i was in evening lake, everything´s gone wrong! Do you have paradox version or what? Because i downloaded the normal version, and everything works fine! And my favourite website is Emuparadise too, where i can download a lots of games on my ps2! But these bug,glitches on this spyro are funny and bad very bad, but my spyro 3 works fine now! In this glitch version, in evening lake when sparx is green and he ate butterfly he disappeared!

The one from emuparadise crashes in many levels. The only good one is from snesorama (PAL).

I have a similar glitch, except i played it on ps1. Yes, i played it when i was a child and i still remember the glitch because it was weird as fuck Almost similar - the Crystal Island suddenly turned to Sunny Villa and so on. Except i flew through the Super Bonus realm with a balloon that overlapped with a rocket from Sunrise Spring

I may be late by 1-3 years but the newer emulation sites like emuparadise have spyro 3 ntsc-u copies that don't have any of the anti piracy problems. And other emulation sites like coolrom have turned into virus harboring sites. I only trust emuparadise and some website with iso in front of it since then.

and did u finished this game ? my sister played paradox version and right after she destroyed the castle with sheila, after she went opff .... the door to this task was closed and on sing was writen :: hi spyro i am currently too busy on my own world ... this mean the third egg on sheilas alp dissapeard .... and it dissapear again and again and again no matters how many times u complete sheilas alp ..... SO i downloaded spyro 3 WITHOUT paradox from isozone and any of these bugs dont appear , i wonder if u play paradox and u dont have bugs :))

Alright, im bit too late, but whatever. Paradox made 2 versions on Spyro 3 - one, that was unfinished, rushed, and full of bugs and glitches (like the one that you see one picture) that came out at the end of 2000. Than, they made a second version, which was bugless and cool, that came aprx. 2 months later than the first one. You need to keep in mind that cracking game like Spyro 3 needed lots of effort and time, because the game had very strong crack-protection.

I had 3 pirate copies for this spyro and I couldnt finish it on PS1 so I did it on PC emulator years later! You could never finish it without glitching. I tried so many times.

On the off chance you didn't find out in the five years since your comment: An ISO is a digital copy of a disc. It's a specific type of format used primarily for playing games through emulation (typically piracy, for those who don't own the game, they download an ISO of a game they want and load it up in their emulator, but piracy isn't the only reason to do this). You can load them up in a virtual drive and they're treated as if you have the disc in an actual disc drive. PAL stands for the European region, notably the UK. NTSC is for North America, such as Canada and the United States.

confused and annoyed the shit out of me as a kid. i thought these were supposed to happen. i somehow made it to the last boss somehow, but when you died there your save games were erased.

@PhearMonkey666 damn mine reseted too when i got to sorceress lair , she hits me then the game resets .-. and just like the video i can go to bonus round just clicking in midnight mountain , but mine was no hacked version , i don't understand :p

And when i was in sorceress´lair, the screen turned to black and the game restarted and warped me to sunrise spring world with 0 eggs 0 gems 0 % WTF????

Nice illegal copy. If you were to make it to the finale boss the most serious anti-piracy method would be activated. The game would start the boss fight, then reset itself back to the beginning with your save file deleted , and it will forget all your progress. However if you talked to Zoey where she appeared where the balloon and rocket merged she would of warned you the copy was illgeal. Also all these "glitches" weren't glitches but anti-piracy methods. The two previous Sypro games did have anti-piracy methods but were very weak. But Sypro three had strong anti-piracy methods for the time.

when you said you thought that saving the game would work, i dont think thats the best idea only becuz it will save that u had all those glitches, but anyway, i would have just restarted my system... but we wouldnt have had a funny video, would we? XD
