First but not least Spyro 1 video to be uploaded to my Channel. This is my brand new 120% PB. It's not optimal and actually more than 15 minutes slower than teh WR, though I guess it shows my current skills in this game. Sub 1:50 is to come in a somewhat near future ;)

I would love to show these videos to my younger self. Spyro was a huge part of my childhood. I may have to explain a few things to my younger self first.

Okay, pay close attention here 33:10. It's amazing. The Druid raises the wall making that pathway inaccessible. But then the fan chest defeats the Druid. You know how the fan chests need to be hit three time before they open? The fan flies off before landing somewhere nearby and bursting again. That second noise confused me when I was playing again recently. Anyway, the fan flew off, above and over the raised wall, and landed on the other side close enough to the Druid to defeat him. I don't know if that was intentional or an accident, but either way, it was incredible.

I never really understood, why do speed runners include unskippable cutscenes in with their time? That doesn't really sound fair, since it's not like they can make those scenes go faster.

Indrijid It's fair in the sense that all speedrunners have to watch the same cutscenes. It would be easy to just remove those cutscenes from the times and say "I finished the game in 1h20min!", but most people (me included) would think it makes no sense as it doesn't represent excactly the time it takes from starting the game to finishing it, as you would be able to calculate just by looking at your clock at those point and doing a simple substraction. There is also a big counter-argument, and this game is a good example: I believe your comment comes from the 3-minute-long credits at the end of the run, between Gnasty Gnorc and Gnasty's loot, right? Well, that cutscene is indeed unskippable by "normal" means, and was thought to be completely unskippable untill maybe a year ago. A year ago, this runner, Touval, has found a way to actually skip the credits byt killing Gnasty Gnorc but also dying slightly later, effectively getting all of Gnorc's gems and unlocking the last Dragon in Gnorc's Gnexus without watching the credits. The thing is, it takes a little bit of time to setup the Credits Skip, and it is very possible you'll die doing it. It means that timing without unskippable cutscenes would render all attempt at actually finishing the game faster useless, or it would require adding back the removed time from other runs to actually reflect that the cutscene CAN be skipped. The RTA timing (or SDA timing in this case) do not care about those cutscenes, which I believe not only make more sense but also makes for more consistency in case a skip is found that actually makes you finish a game faster, through more gameplay and less cutscene-watching. I hope this helped you understand the reasons behind the timing method.

+SalThePiplup You're right. I'll see if I can fix the link. EDIT: Mmmh... I guess it's lost forever now :( Sorry. I could only find my 1:55:19. Well, at least we still have this :) (Also my PB is better than this nowadays, I guess I just never highlighted it)

That's alright! It's sad, but you've got a better version, so there's that. :3 I've heard that twitch has been purging a lot of non-archived videos anyway.

I only watched treetops.. and it does not look like you’re a speed runner. You have trouble moving throughout it, you constantly make mistakes that you have to stop and fix, you didn’t even go to the correct side of the dragon
