11:49 they actually explain this in the art book! Basically, they wanted to make it more colourful and cartoony, and they thought the... Paint ball guns would suit the world of Spyro better than realistic guns. Pinstripe gets his normal gun because it fits the ✨aesthetic✨

I do like them gatling goo guns better, honestly. Spyro 1 in particular feels almost like it's set in a fairy tale land. We have dragons that hoard gems, fairies, wizards and druids, castles on frosty mountain tops and floating islands, all that delightful stuff. Even the cannons in Peace Makers fit this more medieval aesthetic more than the machine guns. And while one could argue that the Gnorcs themselves are the ones that intentionally feel very different, with their more modern gadgets, I'd argue that modern Rambo-style weaponry wasn't exactly what they were originally going for. After all, Gnorc Gnexus was originally going to be the world of Machinist Dragons, very inspired by steampunk machinery and Jules Verne, which while not exactly medieval or fairy tale-like, it still has a huge feeling of wonder and amazement, on top of being still pretty old time-y, 1800s kinda vibe. The approach to Gnorc Gnexus and the Gnorcs' tech in the remake tho, honestly makes me think more of Nikolai Tesla. Maybe it's the emphasis on electric doodads, or the more metallic vibe I get from them, but yeah, it reminds me of that fella. It's very different from Verne and a lot more advanced, but still just as wondrous really, and the goo guns fit in well with these. I mean, they still keep their commando outfits regardless, so it's not like the Rambo references are all gone.

hey did you know that there is a theory that classic spyro is malefor from the legends trilogy?... yeah that sorta makes sense because if you look at the legends trilogy as what it is(a soft reboot) that means the previous games did happen just a long time ago and not in the way that it happened in the games but then again... the person who made that theory has to wear a helmet for liability reasons and huffs propane

The PS4 controller color thing amazed me as well. I loved when playing games like GTA5 and the colors would flash red and blue when you had cops on you. Little details like that OUTSIDE the games always impress me.

I would say that the Spyro 1 remake is the definitive version of the game, like Crash 1. Also, Year of the Dragon is a lot better for the simple fact that Evening Lake and Sorceress’ Lair both have their respective music tracks instead of reusing Sunrise Springs’ track which came off as very jarring.

Snoop Dog is a Spyro fan??...I'm not into rap hip hop, but I suddenly got a little respect for him.

Let’s just... hope that (even though he is mainly a fanatic of the Spyro the Dragon franchise,) he’s not a fan of Enter the Dragonfly, Shadow Legacy, the Legend of Spyro trilogy for the DS (except for The Eternal Night, which is ironic because while I like the home console version of the trilogy, especially Dawn do the Dragon for the Xbox 360 and PS2, I have extremely mixed feelings towards the home console version of The Eternal Night) and Spyro Orange.

Here's what should be fixed, should they do it: 1. Camera control for both games should be mapped to the right stick automatically. 2. Just a better camera in general 3. Lip syncing and cutscene animation 4. Voice overs from the new cast (with the original audio either as an option or free DLC) 5. SA1 style emerald radar in both games 6. Hints in Knuckles' stages that aren't stupid 7. The light dash mapped to its own button (to avoid bottomless pits) 8. SA2 style light dash in both games 9. Audio fixes (for cutscenes) 10. Smartphone app for tiny chao garden 11. Super Sonic in stages 12. Ability to turn Tikal/Omochao off 13. Fix up a few of the plot holes in SA2

I never grew up with crash or Spyro. The first time i ever played crash was the n sane trilogy and the first time i played a Spyro game was Spyro the dragon on PS1. Edit: I also found out I had crash: warped on PS1 and also crash: warped was the first crash game I played on n sane trilogy

This is how I describe Spyro from the late 90s up to early 2000s. He starts off as a young kid playing through an imaginary adventure. Then grows up into his edgy teen stage, but writes edgy adventure stories on Deviantart. Then grows up and needs to pay the bills by getting a job in anything. Finally the remaster games are Spyro on his death bed remember the good times but in 4K graphics

They could have easily made it be ten laps if they wanted. Some of the trophies are easy in this, especially the first game, others not so much. I hate Lost Fleet's skateboard race challenge.

Yeah skateboarding race challenges have always kinda been eh for Spyro, but once again, if a 13 year old could do it, I’m sure many people should be able to as well, albeit with a few attempts lol

Well, when you look at it from an aesthetic perspective... a more wondrous and fantasy-like game such as Spyro 1 using machine guns is probably more jarring than Spyro 3, a super varied and creative assortment of worlds, having Cowboy Dinos using the respective firearms. To be fair tho, in Spyro 2, the guards in Scorch lost their scimitars in favor of some dirks... but the thieves in the Shady Oasis still keep them scimitars? And both are rather clear with their arabian aesthetic, so... I uh, I dunno.

Hey look at that, CTR got the Crash N. Sanity treatment (before Activision did a big messy at least) and Sir Daniel Fortescue made a grand return! ...I wonder if they're working on the second game, actually...

Can we not forget that Toys for bob is to thank for Spyro's return to glory. had Spyro been handed to some other company most likely wouldn't have done anything good with him. so you all have Skylanders to thank for rebuilding the classic everyone loved.

So without toys for bob spyro probably wouldnt have gotten a remaster. Dont be so rude to people without actually reading their comment first. Ok? Epicgamersean D’mann I’ll say this about Enter the Dragonfly: sure, it’s totally the step down people say it is, I can say that after only just now playing through Artisans in Spyro 1. That said, so long as you don’t glitch the hell out of it, it at least feels like a Spyro game and is passable if you haven’t yet played the original trilogy (like me when I played EtD). At the very least, you’d have a better chance selling the Reignited Trilogy (or even the PS1 versions) to someone who had only played Enter the Dragonfly, than to someone who had only played one of the Legend games, or even Skylanders. (Actually, I LIKED the last Legend game. Then again, I played ONLY the last Legend game.)

I know it's not gonna happen, but I actually want Enter the Dragonfly to get a director's cut remake becaue my biggest complaint with that game is it's not finished. The game is not even half the size it was supposed to be and we know what we have.

I will say about Enter the Dragonfly, I feel like that game was the 1st Spyro game where the backgrounds truly felt more detailed & fleshed out (when the levels were actually complete & not unfinished) & I loved the idea of the multiple breaths for Spyro. Had they not rushed the hell out of that game, it could have been a great game. I do hope someone remakes it, but the way it was supposed to be.

Funny glitch I encountered during Spyro one 4 years after release. I was playing that one lvl where you showcased the funny death sound, and I charged at a wizard that moved the ground upward. Right when I killed them, they used there magicy stuff and I shot HUNDREDS of studs into the air. It was hilarious 😂

I can't explain how happy i was for this. I played this game on a bad pc back when i was a kid. Replaying it and seeing the levels i used to play as a kid again made me so happy.

I was just saying stuff about Spyro and Snoop Dogg, not Final Fantasy.

It’s a massive rush of nostalgia

Playing it now, I think mechanic-wise the game still holds up, but the design and how it handles progression is severely outdated. It looks super amazing though, HDR style lighting, rich colors, the only complain I have visually is the motion blur.

I'm definitely a little upset about the colossus monks now doing a stereotypical "ohmmmmmmmmm" instead of that classic "yaiyaiyaiyai" chanting Overall everything that bugged me, aside from game breaking bugs, motion blur, the lack of subtitles and heavy frame rate issues, was the little details they changed. I understand they were gonna change somethings. But they changed all the little things I remembered most about Spyro from when I first played it.

Never played the originals, played the trilogy at my friends house on PS4 and fell in love with the game, just waiting for the switch release now! :)

I feel like a Hero's Tail gets a lotta flack for little reason. It has some pretty mid parts, but it does a lot in a pretty swell way.

The Goo Guns in Twilight Harbor wasn't due to censorship, it was a creative choice by Toys For Bob. Apparently in Twilight Harbor it's now meant to be a Goo Factory, so that's why the Gnorcs have Goo Guns instead of Machine Guns :P Hope that clears things up Ant Dude :)

See this is the thing while I love these games, they weren't my first exposure to spyro... Enter the Dragonfly was and I have very fond memories of that game.

I'm so unbelievably happy they did this, this was my CHILDHOOD. And despite a few animation changes and highly questionable bits of censorship, I love how faithful they were to the original trilogy. I don't know about anyone else, but I had this horrible fear that they were going to take something that wasn't broken and *break the hell out of it.* It's a shame that the current game industry has trained me to believe that this will always be the case. More importantly, I think this game is now a perfect example of what it is Spyro fans wanted all these years. They don't want The Lord of the Rings: Purple Dragon edition, they don't want whatever that malformed thing in Skylanders was, they just want normal old Spyro.

I don't think that the goo gun was censorship, I think it might have been more to fit in with the rest of the game. The reason Pinstripe's wasn't changed was because it fit with his whole mobster thing

I'm glad you mentioned Gulp. I couldn't figure out why I was having so much trouble with it until I finally realized they updated his shots to go in the direction you are travelling when they fire. After I figured that out, it went back to being pretty standard easy.

OMG, I hope so dearly that they remaster Ape Escape, that was my first game and still one of my favorites of all time, if they did that I would literally cry for joy

Also, the Artisans theme. The original theme always kind of bored me, but the Reignited version sounds so much crisper. Those bells! It's one of the few tracks that sound better than the original.

Bianca looks way better, but I'm having a hard time getting used to Elora's redesign. She isn't ugly or anything, just weird.

RappingBeanieDog Bianca looks nice indeed, but i was a bit disappointed with such change of her attitude. Original one was much more sassy and self-confident, don't you think? Maybe that's just me, but i got this feeling from watching new cutscenes, that she behaves now like she is constantly sad and abused or something 😕

Going back to the PS1, I think classic Elora is weird, since she's so human looking. And I think, after the whole Sonic 06 bestiality thing, they made the right choice with her.

@@rickmarr4478 But Bianca wasn't pushed to do so in original as i recall, wasn't she? Bianca seemed quite okay with what Sorceress been doing at first and only later she started to get that they are doing bad stuff. That was the reason i liked this character in a first place - because Bianca kinda turned away from the "evil" side.

I just finished the reignited trilogy with full percentages! Now that I beat all the games I'm really sad because Spyro is literally one of my favorites! I hope in the future to make more Spyro games because he was like a childhood Friend to me even though I may not have been around when the original game was released.

Thankfully they updated the game so you can turn motion-blur off now.

I'm currently 28... And I still find that flossing skeleton pretty damn funny. Jus sayin'.

I loved this so much it made me want to go back and play the originals so I can see how it all got started (I've never played them before). It is that good.

Hey, I got another great idea of a Remastered Trilogy no one seems to mention besides Pac-Man World: Reinvented Trilogy (where the characters have the same designs they had in Pac-Man World 2, except they, like the rest of the game are in HD) - a remastered version of the Kirby’s Dream Land trilogy (or hexalogy if counting the Kirby’s Return to Dream Land trilogy)!!!

Sjono nah it’s a remaster. Exact same coding for level design, character placement, and items. Dont know why people dont know what the difference between the two is at this point.

Actually it's not the exact same coding. Spyro Scope allowed them to gather very accurate data to recreate everything very, very close, but it's still in an entirely different engine from the PS1 original (Unreal Engine 4) and as such it's all new coding made to replicate the original coding. They had to resort to making Spyro Scope because Insomniac actually lost the source code to the original Spyro games while relocating to a new office. Apparently they didn't back it up. As such, Toys for Bob was unable to go back to the original code to implement directly into the remake. If you go near the entrance to the cave level in peace keepers in Spyro 1 in both the original and the remake, you will find that the remake has some weird collision that suggests they were going to make some additional rocks and decided against it, and forgot to smooth out the collision. There are also all sorts of invisible walls all over the place in Spyro 2 and 3 in the remake that weren't in the original too, which you can find by glitching to get higher in the levels than you normally should be able to.

It's an annoying marketing thing. For some reason, "Remaster" is a better buzz word than "Remake". Maybe it's the "Master" part?

Got the trilogy for ps4 recently. Beautifully done. The light effect on the dual shock is indeed a nice touch.

In terms of bosses, the remaster definitely buffed them in spyro 3. The buff definitely sticks out with buzz when he does the sawblade attack because he moves way faster.

To be fair, they ported the trilogy to Steam recently and have said they're considering making a TY 5... I know they're ports rather than remasters, but still! TY in 1080p60!

@@CiromBreeze Cirom Breeze Nah they are by definition, remasters, the original games just with higher quality textures, models, lighting effects etc, and yes i feel that is all Ty ever needed. This game and Crash are remakes, fundamentally from the ground up, different games made to imitate the originals. I would LOVE!!! a Ty 5 though, i love the first, love the second even more.... and 3 is alright, 4 i have never played and honestly have no interest in it.
