Hi Tom, I would to add a note of caution here. Before you do this, check which version of this bike you have. A TRK 502X has a 14 / 44 front / rear sprocket combination. A TRK 502 (NON X ) has a 14 / 42 front / rear sprocket combination. You will REALLY struggle to get under way from a dead stop with a 15 / 42 combination on the TRK 502 Non X version of this bike as it is simply too tall for the engine. The engine doesn't have enough torque to pull the bike away from a stop line on a hill for example. Plus the 15 tooth upgrade is only ok on the X version, "IF" you don't load your bike up with a fully loaded set of panniers, top box and a pillion. I have a TRK 502 NON X version with a lot of luggage to carry. I'm having to fit a 14 / 44 set up as the original 14/ 42 sprocket set up made the bike useless if not almost dangerously slow on acceleration to ride on anything that wasn't a "Motorway." So the 15 tooth sprocket is only any good if you don't have Lots of weight on.

Hi mate. Thanks for the information. The points you raised I can only say I’ve never had any problems with starting up fully loaded etc. And there are many TRK rides who have done the upgrade in the passed a long time before me . Who have also never had any problems. Thanks for the information and I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks for watching bro 😎🤘🇬🇧

Good video, Tom, thanks. This is a change I will be making and it’s nice to see how it’s done before tackling myself. One quick question, with the larger 15 tooth front sprocket, is there any need for a longer chain or does the stock chain have adequate length? Also, what was the approximate RPM drop at motorway speeds? Thanks again.

Hi bob the chain is fine no need to change it. At motorway speed in the uk 70 mph it drop down to 3.5 to 4 rpm instead of 5.5 to 6 rpm . Stay upright bob all the best. Tom 😎🤘🇬🇧

Hi Tom. While watching your sprocket change video I noticed your bash plate and also that you had an after.market horn. Is it louder than standard? Could you please tell me brands of both and who supplied them? Your videos very helpful. I'm also looking for a Trk X workshop manual. Thanks.

Hi Tom really enjoy your videos. This front sprocket swap has really caught my attention as I find the bike feels a bit frantic at motorway speeds, so dropping the revs a bit would be a great improvement. I tried googling for a 15t sprocket but none of the results seem suitable for the trk 502, where did you get yours from. Regards Mark

Hi mark if for get the name sorry 😞 It came from Italy 🇮🇹 but you can find loads of them on EBay and Amazon. Some of them have a red ring around the front of the sprocket. But it’s the same one and they work. Sorry it’s taken time to respond but am up the wall after the house flooding. Thanks so much for watching mate stay upright Tom 😎🤘🇬🇧

Hi Douglas. No you don’t need to go too a dealership. You can get them on EBay or Amazon. Or just Google 15 tooth sprocket ⚙️ for benelli TRK. Hope this helps . Thanks for watching bro. 🤘😎🇬🇧
