GREAT VIDEO! MY WIFE AND I ARE 5'8" SO REAL INTERESTED TO SEE YOU BUILD OUT IN THE VAN. I REALLY WANTED THE DIESEL BUT THANKS TO THE EPA WEAPONIZED. I JUST DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH ALL THE INTENTIONAL TROUBLE BUILT INTO THE DIESEL. THUMBS UP! NEW SUB. THANK YOU!

Hi Mike, Thanks for your comment. Agreed, the diesels do give me concern with the emissions. The 2021 Sprinter gas 144 low roof is a dream for sure. Drives like a car, good mpg, love the lower profile. Really nice. We are still building that Sprinter ( which is our youngest son's) plus we have a 2022 with the 4cyl diesel coming soon - look forward to trying the 4cyl diesel. But the ultimate plan is a 2023 4cyl diesel with the new AWD low roof. Pretty fun messing with these vehicles. But I will definitely say the 4cyl low roof 144 is great to drive. Awesome comparison. I’m with you on the standard roof RWD better for a daily! 2023 will only be 4 cylinder engines no more V6!

Thank you for you comments and for watching the video. Our current van has performed extremely well and is a RWD only high roof. It's able to tow our boat sand Jeep. Have a great weekend!

@@GayeNRobert so you still got the high roof not the low roof on the video? Yeah I don’t need AWD purposes or the issues that come with it.

Gas all the way! I hope more options will become available. Or maybe wait until a decent electric van comes out.

Just to clarify, the 2.0L Gas engine in your low roof van has an oil capacity of 11 quarts. I own one in the high roof and my brother just purchased one in the low roof. Both are gas and quite honestly they are very impressive. I love diesels just like you do but the emissions have transformed them into very sensitive complex units now.

The Sprinter has the same engine as the Metris I have. My lease is up in another year and will be getting the Sprinter but I’m unsure about a 2 litre gas engine in a much larger van. That same engine is a bull in the Metris but I perceive it’s too small for a large van.

How good is your gas engine running now ? Planning on getting one over a ford transit

After you built out the gas engine Sprinter, how does it do when traveling in the mountains ? Going up long hills, etc.. MPG after build out ?? Thanks !

Hi Jamie - the gas engine is very peppy - no issues with mountains or long hills. Definitely better then the V6 diesel we had and similar so far to the 4 cylinder diesel that we have now. Mpg is around 18. The gas Sprinter drives like a car - very nice. Our 2022 Sprinter 4 cyl diesel is similar but the gas is easier to drive overall. Have a great day!

What's the wheelbase on these vans? Are they the same?

The wheel bases are 144 on both

Hi - thanks for your comment! Yeah, the 2021 Sprinter 144 I4 gas has the same towing capacity of 5000lbs as our 2019 Sprinter 144 V6 diesel. Should work without issue. The diesel definitely feels "stronger" for towing.

Ha - poptop will be your friend! I think the Ford Transit high roof is 6'7" - still a bit too short!
