Good job, just an addition, I would have preferred seeing you sitting in the seats and operating them front to back. This would illustrate any clearance/does the doors need opening challenges....Thank you again for everything that goes into making these informative and funny vids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the comment and the kind words. Maybe I’m misunderstanding but you aren’t actually supposed to operate these swivels while seated in them (most swivels are this way). The base with flex and the two plates will scratch each other.

@@moonrakerdesign Ooooh, was not aware that the seats were not designed to swivel and be occupied at the same time. I am green and learning something new every day. Is it necessary to open the door(s) to enable the seats to swivel? or can this be achieved with the door(s) closed?

@@stephenmoody8059 No worries! Everyone is still learning 😀. There may be some brands or models that allow this but I think you'd hit your knees on the cup holder anyways. The doors can stay closed for the swivel. You slide the chair forward a bit, swivel it and then push it back. You don't need to to lean them forward or anything like that either. I found a new swivel I would be curious in trying on my next van that looks equally as nice but for a little less $ - audrioswivels.com/store-hvNcg/p/seat-swivel-for-mb-sprinter-907-2019-2024

does the new artico leather smell like anything?

  • @moonrakerdesign

Smells almost the same as that new car smell for the first couple thousand miles then there’s no noticeable difference between our car with leather seats and this one! They are super durable though we’ve had sand, dirt and mud from dogs all over the place and everything wipes right up. Really happy with them. Hope this helps.

@@moonrakerdesign it does thanks I’m really laboring over a 170” used and a 144” new w the vinyl

@@shannonhagen After driving and debating them both ourselves... the added space of the interior for the 170" is super super nice, it opens up a ton more options for the floorplan. However, for us it was just too big. The 144" fits in a normal parking spot and is way easier to navigate through tight roads and trails. It's a tough decision and ultimately settled on there's no right answer, only a list of pros and cons for each individual and their circumstances. Long story short, the new faux leather is nice. I wouldn't let that weigh the choice in either direction..

@@moonrakerdesign What really weighed in on my decision to even just go for it in the first place was your air saw video. You two have a great calm style that really vibes w me and I am looking forward to using your affiliate links and supporting your channel so please keep making these and I will be over here cutting holes into everything. For practice.

Just curious…where did you find those torque values for the pedestal and seat base? I followed alpine mechanism directions and they recommended 30 ft-lbs for both. They did call for 35 ft-lbs for the e-brake bolts. I’m guessing you checked the weld nut specs for the pedestal.
