Springtime Rattlesnakes in Georgia! Diamondback, Timber, and Corn Snake Eating a Rat!
Ойын-сауық
A great couple of outings highlighted by a rare feeding observation (that I nearly botched getting too close), some rattlesnakes, and common species appearing for the first time in 2024!
North Georgia is finally awake! Our first local snakes of the year, and a great day further south!

That's really cool that you've seen feeding twice on this channel. I saw a big timber kill and eat a cottontail once when I was kid on Ft. Banning, but that's the only time I've ever seen a predation event in the wild.
Just out here feeding wild corn snakes, very cool!! Love me a good contrasty Coachwhip too!!
How nature says Do Not Touch!
As someone who always reads the taxonomic name, I appreciate the new font. It wasn't bad before but this is easier to read. The personal satisfaction you got from going back and finding that EDB was evident.
Great video as usual Noah! Thanks for going out and finding the good stuff, and thanks for your dedication! Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️! Take care and happy herping!!! 😄💙🐬🐍🐊🫶🏼
Yikes, that was one ticked off Rattlesnake. I was sure he was going to strike! Wow!!!! That one snake was worth the day hike! That Coachwhip is very skinny! Can’t believe you found that snake again!!!! You bet it’s intimidating 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I've actually had to do the same thing once when I made a snake drop a prey item. It was a black ratsnake eating a baby bird that fell out of a nest. That was a really great video. Keep doing it big Noah. Catch you on the flip-side. Richard from Arkansas
Finding those antler sheds. 😭😭 we walk our woods looking for them and you just stumble on them 😂🤣
YOUR YE BEST KZreadR!!!!❤
Hey dude! I think that if you went out to at George and caught some lizards it would be a sick video! I’ve been watching for about a year, but you have changed my herping life!
Great video and proof positive as to why corn snakes make such great pets.
Noah if you are ever near Ellijay - I have a crap ton of tin - you can have and 300 acres you can put it on - just fyi man - great video as always
Awesome video that corn snake was awesome
That coachwhip was a sorry looking specimen. ❤ bless!
Gotta love catching a predation event in the wild! As always, love the channel, I definitely appreciate what you do! I missed you at snake road last fall by like a day but I'm REALLY hoping to catch you in the field one day :)
Good stuff man.
That corn snake taking the mouse out of your hand was really cool.
Watching that Corn Snake kicked in my feeding response, im off for a Pizza ! Thanks man !
Beautiful corn snake. ❤️
Nice timber and first racer. I believe that the corn snake would return to eat sooner or later, but you helped it and it ate immediately. I didn’t expect that it would catch it again.
Noah probably knows there’s pretty good tech rain wear these days
Its still a bit cool in Pa, found some sallys, but not much more than seeing some turtles. Looking forward to more herping this year!
Imagine sitting down to a nice meal when a giant rips the roof off the restaurant. Embarrassed, the giant tries to gently prod your plate of food in front of you to encourage eating...
I went out for the first time this year on 3/11 and flipped a few rings and brownies. Hoping for saugas in a few days.
I’ve pulled many tortoises out of flooded burrows it’s surprising how well they can deal with the water
I LOVE NOAH'S VIDEOS BEEN WATCHING SINCE 2019-present day and question for Noah is it recommended to fo herping after raining or before or both?
I love your videos so much, and I've learned so much about the species I'd see in the regions I've lived for most of my life (Florida and Texas and everywhere in between and nearby) since discovering your channel. Recently my partner and I moved to Colorado, and it's a totally different world over here. Are there any herping channels you recommend in the Colorado region? We're looking forward to it warming up so we can see some garters on our neighborhood walks. I have a pet western hoggie, she's about 2 and a half years old, and it's going to be so weird to see little replicas of her out in the wild eventually.
Amazing capture on that corn snake! I know the venomous species around me (east metro atl out by Ft. Yargo SP) but I'm really enjoying the repetition of seeing the non-venomous so I can make sure I learn them too. How do you find the recent-burn areas to visit?
I would love to go on an exploration with you guys. I live in Atlanta, and I went on a nice forest hike in Tifton, GA last spring in search of snakes. I didn't really see much at all as far as herpetology goes... I have had some luck over at Chattahochie Hills/Cochran Mill in the past.
wow! 👍👏✋🙏
i saw a Timber hunt down a chipmunk, nearly had it, until lookyloos scared it, getting close and not knowing it was a rattlesnake also, i saw a cottonmouth trying to swallow a fish, took some pictures of it, from afar
What is more serious about his warning than a coiled eastern diamondback !?
I wonder how old reliable is.
My wild caught Eastern milksnakes don't care if I move them while they are constricting prey. Now when I first got them they were freaked out by me doing that but since they have gotten used to me it doesn't bother them anymore. Sometimes they will constrict a mouse in their water bowl and I move them out of the water because sometimes after killing the mouse they wouldn't eat it in the water and they would leave it there. Now if I just gently move them they aren't bothered at all and just carry on with what they are doing. I wanted a male and female to breed in captivity because Eastern milksnakes are bred in captivity now with some regularity but I ended up with 2 females. I don't care about that though. I love them both. I call them Thelma and Louise. 😊 I won't get anymore Eastern milksnakes until those girls get old and pass away. I had a previous female as a pet for 20 years. I'm hoping that these girls live at least that long for me. I don't know their true age because they aren't hatchlings but they aren't fully grown adults either. They are large enough to where they are taking small adult mice on a regular basis though.
Am i the only one who prefers salamanders and frogs to snakes?
Since I value my life. I am staying out of the woods. I couldn’t spot a snake unless you dropped it on my head 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
How flat can a cornsnake flatten its neck like that??
Why would you do this?😮
Never mess with a feeding animal, people! Not even for views. Not even if there was a fire! 😆 Jokes aside Awesome vid! Very cool to see! But seriously gtf away from feeding animals people.
