Awesome rifle! You must be excited to put it together.. you should hang on to that peep sight unless you need the money. Hope you make a video when it's done shooting it!

Interesting... Any additional info on the history of the rifle itself? I know it's a common mod, but I also happen to have a M1903 Mk I which was also drilled and tapped for that Lyman commercial rear sight. Original Jan. 1920 barrel still on the rifle. No other Mk I parts, though, except the original stock. Just wondering if the Mk I's made it into civilian hands earlier, and so were more commonly mod'ed with the Lyman rear sight? Not sure.

Hey did you ever get that rear sight on? If so what parts do you use? I’m restoring a poorly done sporter and that rear sight is proving difficult.
